The perfect app to teach your kids about money through completing chores and working towards goals. Don’t listen to us, listen to those that fell in love with it. “I love that the Homey not only encourages kids to develop a strong work ethic, but it teaches kids how money is earned, encourages long-term goal setting, instills real life financial skills, and connects the whole family with a fun approach to paid chores.” Crystal, MoneySavingMom “Homey is a great organizational tool for families!” Best Apps for Kids “Homey helps remind my children what jobs they haven’t done yet, so I don’t need to. It even inspires them to work a little harder to earn allowance. Better yet, they are learning to save up that allowance for a bigger reward.” Gloria, JugglingMother “A picture says a thousand words. And with Homey, those words are “this is the chore you’re supposed to be doing right now.” Snap a photo of your kid’s unmade bed and send it to them with a deadline, and then they can send a photo back once it’s taken care of.” Fatherly Features: - set daily, weekly or monthly recurring or one time chores for the whole family - set chores that are responsibilities and you won't pay for, and jobs to teach kids how to earn money or rewards - manage allowance and extra money rewards for each child - transfer allowance to a bank account (US only), or mark it as payed out in cash - track IOU - add or remove funds from wallet - set saving jars with financial goals - kids learn to manage their funds - Homey syncs across all devices in the household SHOW KIDS HOW MONEY IS EARNED With Homey you can pay kids commissions based on chores they do around the house like taking out the trash, cleaning their room, or mowing the grass. And you can also set responsibilities that are required to teach kids that everyone needs to contribute to the household. SUPPORT LONG-TERM GOALS AND SAVING Teach kids delayed gratification and financial responsibility by providing them with incentives that differ in value. With Homey kids learn they need to work longer or harder to earn more. TEACH REAL LIFE FINANCIAL SKILLS Homey enables you to transfer allowance and money kids earn directly to their savings or checking account or tracks the money as IOU and pay it out in cash. This way you can teach your child how banking works, they can accumulate interests on their savings and you can be sure that their money will stay safe. By subscribing to Homey Monthly or Homey Yearly you'll get access to other great features like: Unlimited family members. Connecting your bank account and safely transferring allowance and chore money directly to your child's savings account. Multiple saving jars for each child. • Homey

Homey is a great app only I wish it would not take so long to take a picture. I wish there was no pictures!
  • Don’t get it

    By emi.luv_❤️
We tried signing in and then we went to a page where it showed 49.99 a month for this app and in my opinion who wants to spend $50 on a app that you can find a cheaper app somewhere else which is zero dollars
  • I hate this app…

  • Homey

    By homey app
This app is wonderful it helps me to keep track of what I am supposed to be doing and there are jobs were you can even earn money!😄
  • It’s pretty crap

    By Magic_M42
Alright, on the surface this app looks pretty great. However, whenever my children try to submit a chore it asks for photo proof (whether I request it or not) and the it doesn’t even let them take a photo. Also, this app uses terrible grammar which really gets on my nerves. Example- A a parent requeested photo prof. Honestly, this app is a piece of crap and a waste of money. It’s dysfunctional and ungrammatical and it should not be worth any subscription whatsoever.
  • Monthly fee

    By Weber Family 99
I wouldn’t have downloaded it if I had known it required a monthly fee.
  • Great for ADHD families!

    By Rgwinny
Our household is just me and my 11 yr old son, and we BOTH have ADHD! Hahahahaha it’s a lot of fun, a lot of crazy, and it used to be a lot of “did you remember to...” at bedtime when it was too late. This app keeps us both in check, and my son loves it! He’s asked me to add just about everything, from brushing his teeth to feeding the cat. I love that I can require photo proof, and with the paid version (worth every penny, seriously, skip a couple meals out each year) I can approve or disapprove from my phone. One thing I would really love to see is integration with the Apple Watch!
  • Sorting

    By Suprmom23
This is a nice app and has been helpful. It would be nice if you could sort the chores by date instead of by the week. I can only see today’s chores or for the week. What about sorting for “ tomorrow”?
  • Love Homey

    By 8Dwight Roy
This is exactly what I was looking for. It keeps track of what's owed, and enables me to deposit their savings. I didn't even know it had this feature until I downloaded it. Love it!
  • It works

    By Megan Katte
I've been using Homey for a few weeks now, and it's becoming one of my favourite apps. I do wish I could pick and choose which notifications I want to get (right now it's either on or off), with 5 kids notifications can get a bit much. Even so, this has been the first app that got my kids doing chores consistently, and without me nagging. I have a few recommendations: 1. don't bother setting up a spending jar - how the jars work, it's much better to keep spending in the "total money" and use jars for actual saving goals. 2. read the manual. I found it in the help section and it was a lifesaver. This app has more features than your usual chore app, and it can be a bit complicated to set things correctly. I thought the app was deleting chores, when in fact I had them set to multiple kids at once, and one kid always completed the one chore for all of them. 3. make sure your kids have just the permissions they need. I think the app could make this a bit more obvious, but I had all my kids set up as parents and there's no clue apart them being able to do everything (delete chores, add money to their wallets...). Lets just say they had a bit of fun with it. 4. This one if for the Homey team: MAKE TEXT BIGGER! I'm not getting any younger and some text is really small and white and hard to read, lol.
  • Good app

    By 41Lionel Young
Design and features of this app are definitely the best in the category of chore/allowance apps. However, it is a bit complicated and I think they could improve the user experience to make setup easier. The chore packs are cool, but it's really annoying to edit each chore in the pack if the preset days don't work for us. Just a suggestion, I still love this app.
  • I have recommended this to all friends!

    By Willie Benjamin
This is such a great idea, and it's so easy to use! It's so easy to keep track of allowance, and it teaches kids responsibility. I do wish more things were included in the free version, so everybody had a chance to try it out, but I feel this one is really worth it.
  • Time

    By lettereighteen
Update: This app has a lot of bugs. Too many to list. UI errors. Percentage calculations are off (all chores done = 93%?). Not worth the payment. —————- Please allow us to add chores without times. Jobs allows it. It responsibilities doesn’t. Also, a search would be nice. Ability to see reports for a month or year. Or all time. Also, when someone doesn’t do a chore it gets skipped ahead to the next instance. That’s a horrible way to handle missed chores. If someone doesn’t mop the kitchen it just doesn’t happen?
  • One week free then $5/month

    By Crejr
Misled to believe the app functionality was included for free. Only one week free trial
  • Hi

    By dhcncndjd
I’m 11 years old. I hate this app. It’s so stupid it makes me do work that my mom is supposed to do!!
  • I did not like it

    By ahxhengzjwux
I liked the concept of the app but it is VERY pricey and you only can add 3 people.
  • Not quite there yet

    By mixmasterjones
The idea is brilliant, the implementation not so much. So many server sync errors, lots of chores duplicated, no clear way to delete in bulk or delineate who owns which chore. I so wanted this to work, but alas, no.
  • Best app

    By ChrisTopless2
I love Homey app! The pictures are great for my pre-reader, and it has all the allowance features I need for my older kids. It's really easy to use too. I love how versatile it is, though I admit it took some getting used to. The team behind this app is great, they respond quickly and they helped me find the features I was looking for (I thought I was making a feature request, but the app already had it!). Thank you!
  • Good concept; poor execution

    By azphotomatt
I really wanted to like this app. I’ve been using it for a while now and have had nothing but trouble. Rotating chores don’t work like they should, lots of errors when my boys are trying to mark off their chores, etc. The more I try to give this app a chance, the more issues I run into. The developers are responsive, but I’ve never really seen anything fixed. I think I’m finally giving up on this.
  • Overall decent, but needs work

    By edk012
I like this app and have an annual subscription. It is better than any other option I’ve seen out there. As mentioned by another review it is a little pricey for what you get. If the bank connection feature is what drives the cost then I would split that out. Have a free / low cost version that doesn’t include that part and a higher cost version that does. I just use the wallets and then when my kids want to spend money it comes out of my account (and is deducted from their wallet in Homey). The other major issue with this app is the UI. It isn’t really intuitive. It has taken me a while to figure out exactly how to deduct money when my kids buy something (first you reduce the amount from the Jar and then reduce the amount from the wallet...and add a note for what the spending was on). That’s too cumbersome. Another issue with the UI relates to jobs and responsibilities. I understand how it works, but it isn’t super intuitive either. Finally, the input for funds received or spent is terrible. I have to keep tapping to get all the way to $100 if my kid gets that for Christmas. And I can’t specify an exact amount either. Have to do it multiple times to get to an exact amount if it isn’t a whole dollar amount. Awful input method. I would also like a reminder for me if my kids didn’t mark off their responsibilities for the day. I think they get reminders, but they don’t pay attention or the reminders aren’t at a convenient time. More control there would be great.
  • I Tried Signing Up, Could Not Use

    By calopsitas23
This app looked very promising for me. I signed up immediately. However, I could not sign up properly. I put my email, and I got a loading error. When I tried again with a different email, I got the same error and could not use either email to log in. Overall I’m disappointed that I couldn’t use this app.
  • Pricey

    By dainsworth
I think the idea is good, but it is very pricey. I read that the price point has to do with the bank feature. Why then are they charging for features like chore approval, etc? Seems they could isolate the charge solely for folks who choose to connect bank accounts. We are already happily set up on a banking app for our teen and don’t feel the need to utilize that feature. I’m also frustrated that I’ve tried several times to create my own packs, but they never show up later. I don’t want to have to input the same job each time I assign it (for jobs that don’t recur on a regular schedule). It would be much easier to simply choose it from a pre-made pack that is unique to our family. All in all, seems like there are still a few bugs to work out.
  • So frustrating!

    By xhenxhe
I’m about to go insane just trying to set everything up. The app is so slow and buggy! It keeps crashing on me. I’m on the latest apple hardware too. Bank integration is so sloppy. UI is nice UX is terrible. I plan on running this on two iPhone and two kindles, so it is nice it is on both platforms, but I wish it were written as a PWA so that it behaved the same in both and I could use it on my computer. Also, if it is the bank integration that keep the price point high, could you offer a plan without the bank integration? it is kind os pointless. I tried to add my 16 yo daughter’s account, but it said I can’t because she isn’t 18.
  • Great, but lots of room for improvement.

    By Preston E. Lee, Jr.
This is a great app, but it lacks some basic functionality that has me on the fence with my subscription. I will probably cancel soon as the shortcomings are not worth dealing with when paying monthly. - Support for negative balances in wallets; I.e. being overdrawn. - Ability to edit/remove log entries. I have lots of erroneous entries while learning how to use the app and there is no way to remove them aside from possibly resetting the entire family. - Removing wallet funds should default to either a negative number or simply a positive amount that will be removed; currently, it will add funds if a negative value is not specified. - Ability to change the decision status for tasks between "denied" and "missed".
  • Nice app

    By Fxfgbqakjkzdqtfv
We started this app as a way to keep track of chores, but the ability to manage allowance is great as well. We dont require chores to get allowance in our family, but its been really great that Homey is able to adjust to our system as well.
  • Great concept but buggy

    By KLb1620
Don’t even try using jars, the overlays will never dismiss, necessitating force quitting over and over. Then it made 3 copies of my jars? But if you try to delete them... stuck overlay and force quit... what a mess. Again, this app has some great thinking behind it, now the code base needs to catch up. You also can’t do any jobs before all responsibilities are complete for the day. Sounds good in theory? Unless a responsibility is to brush your teeth before bed, set 30 before bedtime. Then it’s literally impossible to ever do jobs...
  • Love it

    By Dana Freeman24
I feel this app is teaching kids that saving money takes time, and that they need to wait and work hard to get good things. It's really visual, and the kids love it. I am missing some features like the ability for parents to add interests on their kids saving, but I really like where this app is going.
  • Pretty good

    By Edison Johnny
My kids HATE chores, and I have to nag all the time. This app was recommended to me, and I was skeptical, but so far my kids are doing chores without me saying anything. Pretty great.
  • Great app

    By Claire FitzGerald
This app has been such a great help for our family of 5. Other apps are either too adult, or too childish, but Homey is perfect. My 7 year old, and my two teenagers, all use it almost daily, and it's great to keep track of allowance. Great app
  • Well down

    By 35Borg Hansen
This app stands head and shoulders above other chore apps out there! The design is great, not to childish, and it has all the features you might need. The team behind this app is really responsive, and they are doing great work. Thank you, best app for families for sure!
  • Buggy, cancel before free week ends!

    By Labrat147
We’ve looked at a number of chore trackers for our family, and Homey’s features put it close to the top. That said, it kept freezing on my iPhone 8 on several actions. I tried to cancel at end of free week, but $50 charge for whole year was apparently default and had gone through. Ugh. Now using OurHome and much happier.
  • Great app but few bugs

    By Swim hat
I love this app but there are times when I choose an option but it freezes and leaves me on that option.👎🏽
  • Looks like the latest update is a bust

    By ErinWest
We love this app, has helped our boys with responsibility as well as thugs like time management. App will open for me, but it’s completely blank (white screen). We didn’t realize just how much or mornings depended on homey until it didn’t work! Usually a 5 Star app.
  • Great idea, terrible implementation

    By Corbin Carling
One of the chores the dev team needs to set for itself is beta testing and removal of bugs. Issues with tasks not being able to be approved. Issues with kids being able to approve some of their own chores. Issues with app telling me things are premium features, when I have (had) a premium subscription. Then today upon opening the app to approve chores, all I saw was white space and the menu icon. Open the menu, more white space. So I deleted the app and reinstalled it, but now I am unable to log into my household and get a ‘wrong household’ error. The idea is fantastic though. Our 12yr old has never been so enthusiastic about chores. Even our 15yr old has been doing more chores. But until this is fixed it’s back to the drawing board and looking for an alternative app.
  • App reliability is a dealbreaker

    By Beegirl200073?4!/9
I just discovered this app today and was about to force you to take my money... but unfortunately, although it is a FAB concept, the apps are unreliable. On my iPhone SE, the tips can’t be read, because the “next” button is in the middle of the text. It hung when trying to add my husband to the app, but when I restarted it, it had added him 3 times. I decided to try it on my iPad, because I *really really* wanted to love this app. Womp Womp. Couldn’t add my daughter; it refused to let me access the fields for birthdate and role. I tried to change my family name—again it crashed. Hope you guys get it together, because I would love for it to work, but for now, you’ve lost a customer.
  • Needs Work but Great Great App

    By S. Maxime
It's really a great app, great concept, but may have a couple of bugs with the Jobs section not appearing on the others' lists. Cloning and/or duplicating a Responsibility got a little hairy because their titles can be the same and they don't move when reassigned after duplication. More can be done with regards to the commenting on chores to notify and thereafter find the comments. So far it's been worth the subscription, things are getting done. I would suggest allowing links to be clicked and videos on Jobs. One Job listed was QB mechanics for my son and it would have been great if he could click the link to watch video of the did beforehand or watch it in the app.
  • Great app, but...

    By DrLisaOnline
This app is an awesome, helpful concept, however it is more difficult to organize without a calendar feature where you can see all the assigned chores visually. Having a calendar feature is crucial to the efficiency of this app, and the main reason I haven’t been using is regularly for my household, is because I find it difficult to organize chores evenly. Perhaps each family member could be a different color, or jobs could be a different color from responsibility, etc. Unfortunately, I must concede that I won’t use this app until a feature like this is added.
  • Feeling deceived

    By Tlarsen45
I used this app with the free trial and decided I would go ahead and keep it after the trial. Keep in mind that the developer said in previous reviews that the monthly fee was to provide the ability to link to your bank account. I would be happy to pay the fee, if only my bank was one of the very few banks that are supported with this app. Now I feel like I’m paying full price for this app without getting all of the features. I would suggest adding a whole lot more financial institutions to your list or offer an option for someone to pay a onetime fee to use all of the other features. I find it ludicrous that I am expected to pay a monthly subscription fee when I can’t even use the service they are charging for.
  • Good for families of three

    By MidgetSpinner
A glorified chore chart shouldn’t cost you anything. I see potential in this app, but the ease of access isn’t there. Max amount of family members you can have is 3 for those that don’t subscribe
  • nice APP

    By Ethel Harte
  • my family like it so much

    By Clara Bentham84
Homey has EVERYTHING we need! If you need an app to set up recurring chores, have notifications pop up on each family member's devices, manage allowance and money for the kids, this is the app for you! I just found that this app actually works great with Dave Ramsey's system that we kind of follow, so I might redo all the chores according to his commissions system. But it is so customizable!! I was having trouble setting up everyone's permissions (I set up my son as a parent by mistake), and the support desk was quick to help me out! I love Homey!
  • Best allowance tracker

    By Phyllis Kelvin
I was looking for an app that would enable me to set up chores and allowance for kids - they usually do just one or the other, and I really didn't want to use two apps. Homey does it all, and it does it perfectly. I love how I can set up recurring chores, make them rotate among kids, extra jobs. The wallet functionality on the kids' side is superb! It teaches them budgeting and saving and I love that!
  • fantastic

    By Jim Jeffersong
Very good app in my opinion, however need better parental controls. Even after adjusting in settings, kids are still able to change names, and can edit a little more than they should be able to. Few bugs need worked out also. But the overall purpose and concept of this app makes me happy.
  • Very impressed!

    By Roderick Galbraith
Homey was recommended to me by a friend, and it's perfect for us! We're foster parents, so our family is large, and it requires A LOT of organization. Homey is really motivating for the kids, and it makes our work so much easier. I use it to manage all the recurring daily and weekly responsibilities for each kid (also use it for behavior). I'll also use it during the summer to set up extra jobs for the kids, and they're actually looking forward to that! I like that it teaches them to be responsible with money as well.
  • My kids are collaborating

    By Caesar Hardy
This app makes my kids work together! Before this app we had to ask them to do their chores over and over, and hang allowance over their head, and they were always fighting. Now they are motivated, see what each has to do, and they are even asking for extra jobs. I really like how the app keeps a tally of everything, and how the reports work week by week and allow me to go back. This is a FANTASTIC app!!
  • very very good

    By Suzanne Warner
We just started using it, but it seems to be a great motivator for my young kids. Just one question, is there any way that I could download this to my son's iPad so he can see his daily task list? I don't want him to be an admin and have access to make changes like his dad and I. Thanks!
  • convinent

    By Bernard Christianj
Really love all the features this app has to offer! It totally makes our home run smoother and actually helps reduce the number of arguments over who has to do what. The only thing that would make this app better is if I was able to make one task contingent on another. For instance, putting away the dishes would becomes due the day after the task for cleaning the dishes is completed. A decent work-around is possible if you select specific days of the week for those tasks to be completed so still giving a full 5 stars.
  • great APP

    By 20Yves Cromwell
I really like this app. My daughter is getting things done because of this app. When I make a comment on how well my kids did, I would like to see it pop up on their phone instead of just going in the family chat area. But this app is still awesome.
  • pretty good

    By Bonnie Piers
This app allows chores to be assigned to different people on a rotating schedule based either on time or on completion, and to share that list with the whole household, and it's beautifully easy to use. It's kind of perfect. My compliments to the developer ^_^
