  • It just boots me to my bank app, what’s the point?

    I open Zelle, select my bank and it just opens my bank’s mobile app since it’s a Zelle affiliate. There’s NO option to just use the Zelle app on its own. Why? Pretty disappointing since Zelle looks like a far more attractive and intuitive experience.

    Cannot use a business debt card with Zelle. Cannot change primary email address, i call in for help and the agent was not able to correct the issue (he was very nice) and sends me to advance help desk which is a voicemail. Left a voicemail and per the message it says they will call you back...that’s a lie!!! No return call almost a week later. So far I cannot collect reimbursements for the time spent refereeing rugby and the travel involved. Let me guess...now I will get a note to “please call us” we’ll I did and nothing was fixed but I have a better idea, call me like your advanced help desk voicemail said you would do.

    I called the customer service number and after I couldn’t hardly understand the person I asked to be transferred to someone else. I was told the only other person who needed to talk to was my bank. After getting the supervisor also with an accent hard to understand but better my complaint on how I was treated was not listened to. If you never have problems then Zelle is fine. Customer service however is terrible and felt less than a person. I’m the customer!!! Listen to my questions and provide me with an answer to what I’m asking.

    I thought this app could do something, apparently its useless. I’ve been trying switch banks with my Zelle account from chase to Wells Fargo and I’m trying to erase the number/email on my chase account so I can use it with the other one but the app doesn’t show any options for anything. All it shows is (what’s your bank?) when you type in your bank it redirects you to your bank’s app. Like, give me a break give a use to this app!!! I guess I’ll have to use Venmo.

    I just installed but I can’t register my debit card it says my phone number is not matching with the bank’s records. I called the bank and they have the right information on file. I waited 24 hrs to try again and the same message comes up... I’m very disappointed.

    Now, the idea of Zelle is great! The fact of the matter though is - everybody should stick to using their Bank Version... the app is literally of no use.

    So disappointed. I was sent $ and neither of my two banks were able to accept the money because my debit cards would not go through. Talked to customer service and they said I had to request a debit card that accepted Zelle from my bank. Way too much work!!!
  • Unimpressed and registration is cumbersome

    I have been unable to register using the zelle APP. After I enter in my mobile # and email address, the confirmation number won’t work and I tried calling but there is no option to speak to a representative. The automated line hung up on me after pressing zero to speak to a representative. I am beyond frustrated at this point and can’t retrieve my $. The APP needs to work better when transferring $ to outside institutions that aren’t on the list. Other cash APPs are much for user friendly.

    I got this app six months ago, the face recognition never worked. I turned that off my password didn’t work. I texted their number for help dozens and dozens of times no response. I sent two support tickets on their website. Still no response. I tried deleting the app and redownloading it. This is the worst banking app I have ever used. Whoever the support team is completely blew me off.

    Struggled for about 3 hours today trying to get into my Zelle app. It kept saying it was sending me a verification number to my phone, but I never received one. I then went on the Zelle website and messaged them for help. I received a response hours later telling me to call them (but now it was after business hours so it didn’t matter anyway). After hours of attempting to get the code to send, I finally got into my account. Why have an option to message for help if you’re just going to tell me to call the help line anyway?? Ended up just using Venmo!

    It keeps directing me to use Zelle through my bank. I’ve sent money from one bank to Zelle and requested money from another bank from my Zelle. But I can’t login to complete the transaction. Money is stuck in Zelle with no way to login via app.

    There was an issue with my bank, a debit of $500 via Zelle. I called immediately to dispute, and was told that it was a valid charge, since it was through Zelle. If it is through Zelle, I obviously authorized it, right? Nope. I created an account January 2018, but never activated it. I called customer service, and was told there were no transactions on my account. Duh. I need that in writing for my bank. I was told to email customer support, because they can’t do that over the phone. So, I sent an email ticket explaining the above. The response I received was that they wanted to help, but I had to call their 1-800 number. So, I did, again, and was told, again, that the rep could not help me, but that it was another department. She gave them my info and said to give it 1-2 business days. I did, and never received anything, so I sent another email to follow up. I still never received anything. So, I called again for the 3rd time, and the rep kept screwing up what I was saying. She “confirmed” that I was requesting $500, then she said my card on file was invalid and that I needed to update it. Completely irrelevant. She put me on hold a few times, and each time she came back, my concerns were twisted way out of context. I made her put me through to a supervisor. This person told me he could not help me, but that I had to email customer service. I told him I had already done so 3 times. He promised this would be the last time, but to make sure to be as detailed as possible, and to let them know I spoke to a supervisor. I did. I included all of that, and never received a response. I am blasting this here, and all over social media. I racked up over $200 in overdraft fees because of this, and need proof for my bank. This is a simple request, not rocket science. DO NOT EVER USE THIS SERVICE!!!!! I have never had issues with PayPal or Square. Use them. Unless you like to be jerked around, and have money to lose. In that case, by all means, use Zelle. My final email from a week ago: There was a charge of $500 from Zelle for Tyquell Mackins to my bank September 24. I called my bank immediately to dispute the charge. I was told the charge would be placed on hold, but it was not. It was allowed to go through and accrue over $200 in overdraft fees. I filed a formal dispute. The dispute through my bank came back as a valid charge, since it was through Zelle, and you are a secure website. My bank states that I obviously authorized the charge because it was through Zelle, and that if I had further questions, to contact the merchant. I called Zelle customer support on October 2. The customer service representative verified that there was no transaction, and told me he could give me nothing in writing, but that I had to contact you via email support, so I did on October 2. I relayed the information to my bank that there was no transaction, but they said they needed proof from Zelle in writing that there were no transactions. The following is my email to you on October 2: “There was a $500 charge to my bank account for Tyquell Maskins. I don’t know who this is, nor did I authorize the charge. I filed a dispute with my bank, but they said it was a legit charge since I have authorized it through Zelle. I don’t recall ever creating an account. Please look into this and provide me something in writing so that I can prove this fraud to my bank.” On October 4, I received a response from you stating that you want to help, but that I had to call your 1-800 number. So, I did. AGAIN. And, I was told by the new rep that she could not give me this information, that it was through a different department. She reached out to them and told me to give them 1-2 business days. So, I did. By the end of the week, I had received nothing. So, I sent another email communication to follow up. I have received nothing. So, I called AGAIN (3rd time) today, October 13 to follow up. I spent over 20 minutes repeating myself to the representative. She wanted to get my new card information. Then she said I requested $500. Then, she needed the last 3 numbers on the back of my card. She put me on hold, only to come back with the information all wrong again. I had her put me through to a supervisor, and told him to listen to my phone call. I want you to listen, as well. It is ridiculous that I had to repeat myself so many times and she still could not get it straight. Your customer service is terrible. The supervisor told me to email one last time, and give you all the information. So, I am. For the THIRD time. I am reaching out, telling you that I need something IN WRITING from you that there have been no transactions on my account. Or, even, a transaction history. I need SOMETHING stating the $500 charge never occurred. There is now over $700 at stake, and my stress and frustration levels are through the roof. My bank is Woodforest National Bank. I will give 2 more business days. If this is not resolved, I will blast this incident all over FaceBook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, and any other social media I can get my hands on. Enough is enough. This is not a difficult request.

    This app would be perfect if I can actually send and receive money to people that actually have the app Iv ran into a few occasions where the app wouldn’t allow me or my friends to send or receive from people that have it all set up it would claim that they don’t have an account so we couldn’t make any transfers which is on my behalf the only problem Iv seen with this amazing app

    Cannot change phone number associated with one bank account without having a separate home phone number to verify. Have to create fake email addresses just to add a separate bank account. Stupid, trash, garbage, legit dumb philosophy. No wonder why no one uses this trash and people prefer Venmo. Get your foliage together.

    Don’t get this sh*t I lost $200 probably went straight into the company’s pocket. I don’t get why this app even exists or why I even used it. Most banks allow you to send money to other accounts anyway all from the bank app.

    Even though the app allows the sender to transfer the money to someone not registered in Zelle, it just doesn’t work properly. I received an email that a person sent me money in Zelle (which I wasn’t a customer of), and followed all the instructions:1) I couldn’t connect my bank, because it wasn’t on the list; 2) when I did manage to connect it with customer support, it turned out that I couldn’t have received the money any way because I wasn’t registered in the app at the time of the transfer. It’s just a total mess and extremely bad customer experience.

    It’s kinda good when the money is deposited directly to your bank. The thing is it’s slow to show or receive notification. You have to sign in every time and it takes forever. At the end of the day it doesn’t show total amount of the day. Should be nice if it give a total. I wanna add another phone number to receive notification but it doesn’t let me.

    I’m not happy with the fact that you have to wait 30 after you change your phone number to be able to send money again. It has been an inconvenience for the past 2 weeks.
