INTERNET SAFETY FOR KIDS AND TEENS Online safety is a growing concern for children and parents. Common threats regarding Internet family safety include: cyber bullying, obscene or offensive content, pornography, hateful messages and sexual predators. Children are naturally curious and may not always know when an online situation is unsafe. Fortunately, Norton Family can help monitor your kid’s online activity. ¹ Location Supervision requires parent activation before use. ² Mobile app must be downloaded separately. ³ Video Supervision monitors videos that your kids view on YouTube.com. It does not monitor or track YouTube videos that have been embedded in other websites or blogs.

  • Location services disables automatically

I appreciate this app for the ability to set and change house rules, block certain websites, and know where my child's is. I am frustrated by the fact that location services keep turning off somehow on both devices. This never happened before with a different monitoring app. And it happens when no one is using the phone or tablet. A smaller issue is that there is no way to lock devices separately. The only option is to lock all of one child's devices. Now I'm in a situation where the morning of a day my child's phone was stolen, the location services were disabled, so I can't locate the phone. And I can't lock it without also locking my child's tablet which she can also use to communicate.

Very unhappy with the Norton Family app, can’t recommend to anyone. No text monitoring, a clunky interface that is part app and part website, tons of erroneous reports about my kids turning off various features, locations that sometimes don’t work... look elsewhere.

Sometimes the app works great. Sometimes it does absolutely nothing when you’ve been logged in for several days. It doesn’t even allow you to log out and try again.

I would like it better iff the time limits accumulated across devices.

  • Not really great with iPhones. Very limited and having to use Morton’s browser is a deal breaker.

I hoped this would be a great aid to look after and protect my 11 & 14 year old, one of whom is disabled. The app is a nightmare to install and configure properly, and if you get it running it will slow the internet connection by about 66%. Very disappointing performance. I certainly hope they improve the prod, it is greatly needed in these sick times.

The functionality of the app is limited. When you click on the child’s name, it sends you to a screen of the website. Why? I don’t know but I expect to do everything within the app. But, then when you try to use the website via the app, it doesn’t work! You can’t scroll down to get to all the options - such as changing the hours allowed on a device. I’ve tried this both on iPhone and iPad.
  • Two Factor Authentication

This app is unusable on my iPhone. I have two factor authentication set up, and when I enter the code, the app does not allow me to press sign in. I can’t swipe down to view the bottom half of the page. It’s as if the page is frozen. Once I enter the code, I can do nothing else.
