    Although this is a great app, if Apple has your payment information they will charge you and if for some reason you didn’t want to renew it, they will charge you anyway and tell you that you’re not eligible for a refund. Shocking. I feel like Apple takes away from the integrity of the app by blowing you off when you ask to be refunded. Sad.

    Have had this App for many years and all of the sudden it wants $29 to release my passwords. Do not trust this app. Its a scam. They get you using it and counting on it just to lock it down last minute and then want to charge you to release the info. Total scam job!

    I’d Recommend this app to EVERYONE looking for a secure and easy to use place to keep up with passwords etc... I’ve used this app for at least a few years now and love it! I use it for home, work, stores, kids school passwords, parents passwords on things I help them with. Support has been great when I had issues or questions. I show this app to work colleagues all the time. Thank you Keeper!!

    I been using this app for a couple years for all my accounts as I always forget my passwords. Now for the last months it keeps telling me my subscription is done and I need to renew. I never had a subscription I used the free version. Now you have to pay and my passwords are all locked in the app and I can’t retrieve them now because it’s $29.99/year to use the app now. Dumb will be switching to just a regular notepad or another app.

    Been using the free version of this app for a couple of years now. Had the option before to decline purchase but a couple of weeks ago I was told I had to purchase the membership or risk losing my stored passwords. Now my passwords are stuck in there. I would’ve liked a heads up so I could put my passwords elsewhere before they got locked up.

    I am someone who leaves well enough alone and is just happy living life. I have used and loved this app for years! I Telling everyone who complained about having to keep up with passwords, to try this app. Then I started getting notices about my passwords not being backed up because I was on the free version. I wasn’t worried because I always back up my phone before I update IOS and I hadn’t had much of a problem with the app. It would crash to where I couldn’t open it sometimes, but what apps don’t have a problem every once in a while. Until today... I tried to open the app multiple times to look up some information I needed. Crash. Again. Crash. Again. Crash. I eventually turned my phone off/on again (which has always worked). The app asked me to sign in. I thought this a little weird but I signed in anyway. My folders pop up no problem. I open a folder up and THERE IS NOTHING IN THERE. I back out and open another folder. THERE IS NOTHING THERE EITHER. I close the app, open it back up. Same thing. I am freaking out at this point because I had a TON of information on this app. Every time I have opened the app it has synced. With what I don’t know but I was assuming home base. I open a chat up on my desktop and get Ben. It takes a while for him to respond. When he does he tells me all of the reasons said loss could be my fault. New device, lost device, upgraded device, multiple users, upgrading IOS. And then gives me no options. I tell Ben that none of those things happened and I want my info back. He (finally) tells me he sent a code to my email and to paste that into our convo. He said he would temporarily have my account back up. (Info to MY account would be available to me for 2 days) Once I was able to get back into my account, I had duplicate entries and folders and some entries weren’t even in folders anymore. Plus my more recent additions that were supposedly “synced” were not there. When I questioned Ben about this all he could say was “Sorry”. Really?! That’s it. Very techie of you Ben. This company is not about the faithful customer, nor the customer who never has a problem, nor the customer who might need just a little help. This is now, in my opinion, a company who is all about the money. Ben didn’t fail to remind me I was only a free version customer. I have now had to write down all of my info from this app since it will be lost again in two days unless I pay $30 a year for the upgrade. Sounds like extortion to me. Why in the world would I now pay a crooked company $30 a year to keep my info “safe”?! I will be going with another company for this safeguard. I may happily pay another but I will never pay this company.

    The minute you pay and try to turn off auto-renew the link is nowhere to be found in either Settings or Account and when you try to send an email for help the Send button is disabled so you can’t contact them. Shady bullsh*t!

    This app used to be free. It began pressuring me to subscribe at some point. Due to the security problems that the app has had and the high pressure tactics to subscribe, I moved to another password management tool. Unfortunately, I haven’t moved some passwords and Keeper won’t let me access them without subscribing. I’m not paying $30 a year for something I can get for free with better security.

    This app used to be free and it was great. But out of theyl blue they told me I had to pay there yearly fee in order to view all my passwords or I would t be able to get them. I paid so I can get them but I transferred my passwords somewhere else for safe keeping and after the year I cancelled the account. Just be prepared to have your passwords blocked one day until you pay their fee

    So, I paid for the online back up of my passwords. Usually, apps quit pushing their ads, etc. once you’ve bought something. Now they want to sell me backup I don’t need at all, so I get to click through that every time. I’ll buy it if I want. Quit pushing it once I’ve paid for your other service. That’s a huge pet peeve. It would probably be 4 stars if not for that.

    After having this app for awhile, now you expire my account and require me to pay to get my passwords? Screw you. I’m not paying you a dime after doing that. How about a warning to users in advance letting them know if you don’t pay, you will expire their account and prevent them from retrieving their passwords. Never suggest this app to anyway after that bull****.

    i used this app for so many years for free im a disabled veteran i only had several files in the app files for my bank my Social Security and my VA stuff like ordering my meds. today they locked me out saying the app is expired and i must subscribe now. How can u people do this. now i have to call the VA to get new passwords for my meds. I know everything is about money these days. but this thing you did is pretty crummy.

    I’ve been using this app since 2010 if not earlier... never once had to pay for it and NOW if I don’t pay $29.99 I don’t have access to my passwords. PURE GARBAGE. How do you go years using a “free” app and suddenly now one has to pay.

    The watch app is flawed. It constantly crashes on Apple Watch. They never should have rolled this out as an additional security measure. The normal keeper app itself works great on iOS. Used it for years. This new way of forcing us to download the Apple Watch app is a pain that adds no value.

    Support was unable to correct a problem where it wouldn't accept a New password. The app self deducted and destroyed around 200 passwords. Now I can't log in to cancel the service and they're going to keep charging my credit card.

    I have no complaints about this safe App.. As long as I remember my password to get into my App. safe it holds all the passwords for all the App's that ask for the password so I can go on with whatever App. I'm in. It keep the passwords safe from anyone wanting to know my passwords, and I like that! Get this App. it's the best safe App. I know😊 That the truth to you all who want to remember your passwords but, don't want anyone else to know them. It's to me very safe and as long as you remember the password to get into the App. safe you will do okay and that the truth again👍🏼👍🏼. Still the best App. EVER!!! What can I say on my iPhone you can get in so fast with touch thumb print I like that fetcher, I just wish that fetcher could be set up on my iPad but, I'm okay I still remember my password.     Before my yearly subscription expired, I tried 4 times to renew my subscription through the app and though my phone settings. It didn’t take my money and it didn’t renew my subscription. Now when I open the app it tells me my subscription is expired & only lets me close it as it still won’t take my money. Now I have no access to my passwords. This glitch is unacceptable and very frustrating. Now I have to find a new app and input all my passwords again. That’s a whole day gone to this stupidity. Good thing I had a backup of my passwords or I would be completely lost.

    Over a year ago I accidentally subscribed. I let them know the accident and got my money back. Suddenly they decide to hold my passwords ransom. I can’t get them back unless I subscribe though the other people I know who never subscribed still have access to theirs. I have lost way too much thanks to this app. I do not suggest using it unless you want to pay for it! Just find another of the many apps out there that won’t steal your passwords and not give you access to them

    This is a great app, it helps my poor memory, with so many passwords. Only thing that kept me from five stars was someone to talk to. I have a few questions on how to better use keeper that I can’t figure out with the on line instructions.

    I have used this app for a few years. If he been great. Now, I upgraded my iPhone. I was having trouble transferring the app to my new phone. Password problems. I sent emails to their service dept. They simply told me “if I want help, I have to pay an annual fee”. So, no support of the app unless you pay. Ok. I had to transfer all my passwords to a new app. Disappointed.

    Works well. Does what it is supposed to. I signed up for the free version a long time ago and was charged on my business card after a year. I called in (which was really difficult at the time) to tell them that I didn’t want the paid version. They reimbursed me, supposedly (I never verified), and I thought I was on back on the free version. All month long I’ve been getting notifications about my trial version expiring and I have been ignoring it because I signed up for the free version back in 2013! This past week as I’m trying to access my information for a medical urgency, I get a pop-up that prevents me from access unless I pay $30. I was to busy and didn’t have time to contact them until yesterday (Saturday) but it was time consuming just to get someone on the phone. After holding for over 14 minutes (when the automated system said the hold time was 12) i got a voicemail. I emailed them last night asking for them to unlock. They didn’t get back to me until this morning. They told me that I’ve been paying for the service (but I haven’t been getting paid service perks). I requested receipts. They provided receipts for 6 years. Including the one for the first charge when I called and I was supposed to be reimbursed. Turns out it was being charged to my business card which I don’t monitor as frequently or intensely as my personal cards. Smh. While I should’ve caught this 5 years ago, I would believe an honest company, that promotes a free product and that wants to grow would’ve honored the wishes of their potential 6+ year customer. I was wrong. Note to business owners... Check every transaction on your business credit card statement. Even the $30 ones! I have since requested them to delete the information on my account and close my account (and haven’t received confirmation yet) but I’m out $180 on a service that I thought I was getting for free. I use plenty of apps that are free and I just have to deal with pop ups, but this is the first that got me for money all to access my own information. Now if you know what your getting into and you were willing to pay the cost for years to come, it’s reliable and works well.

    This is a good app but they hold you hostage and steal your money. I’ve been using Keeper for approximately 7 years and I was forced to upgrade to the paid version because my free trial expired and I could not access any of my passwords which I only stored in Keeper. Every time I login, I get warnings that I may not be secure and I should upgrade to a more secure version...really? I’m not paying enough money already? You must be a pretty sucky app developer if you cannot make your paid app secure enough. Loser. In the meantime, my husband has been using the free app for years, he’s never been forced to upgrade (haha, Keeper). I got a warning a few weeks ago that I was due to renew my yearly membership and I cancelled it so that it would not renew. Coincidentally, my credit card was comprised a few days ago (unrelated to any of this) but I had to cancel my card and did not link it to my Apple account yet. Wouldn’t you know, I got a message that Keeper still tried to charge my card and sent me a message that they were unable to renew my subscription despite the fact that I cancelled it!!! I’m sure I would have had to battle with them to get my money back. Stick it up your Keep-hole, Keeper! I would not use your app again unless you paid me.

    It should be a policy of Apple that if an App is going to claim it is free, it should not require you to set up all your information just to take you to a page telling you when your free trial is over. This is a completely dishonest practice. I’m deleting this app now. If you would have been honest to begin with, I may have considered purchasing it.

  • Annoying pop ups and upselling even for paying customers

    I have subscribed to Keeper for several years and have been reasonably satisfied as it does the job intended and is not cost prohibitive. I have noticed an annoying trend in the increased frequency of pop ups trying to get me to upgrade to “Breach Watch” services. When I log in to keeper to pull down a password, I can’t stand that I am presented with a pop up which displays two options to make it go away: “upgrade for 9.99”, or “stay unprotected”. Give me a break, I’m already a paying customer, there should be an option in the settings for me not to have to put up with this garbage upselling. How many times do I have to say no?? Honestly the only reason I haven’t switched to Lastpass or another service, is simply inertia, but that may give way soon along with my patience.

    Still no change. Still no change. Long time Keeper user. Normally rated as 5 stars but every once and a while the developer does something bone headed that leaves you wondering what in the hell were they thinking. Case and point - for us subscribers who pay $50 a year we now get the bonus of in-app banner ads that take up 20% of the screen. This is up and above the full screen advertising that shows up each time we login. It actually remind me of scams you see when browsers are hacked and say something like “SCAN THIS PASSWORD IN THE DARK WEB...NOW” Oh wait... that’s exactly what the in app banner says. Seriously. It’s red and yellow and looks so bad that I actually thought the Keeper app had been hacked. “click here in this link and we’ll check your passwords”... real comforting. Actual outside of my sarcasm in writing this review I am actually wondering about my passwords safety. I’m not really sure I want a password app exposing my passwords on the web “to check them”. The banner comes up when I am in a password record. Clicking the link then takes me to the web, from Keeper. Now I’m guessing that Keeper probable has things locked down but at what point do they sacrifice security for revenue? The question really is not whether it is secure but rather which is more secure - with an ad banner showing when you have your passwords showing on screen or without? The ad information is pulling from a sever somewhere and being displayed as your password is also being displayed. Subscribers are already paying $50 a year, why even put in their heads that security is being sacrificed for revenue. Hopefully the developer can see the concerns of the longtime paying customers and come up with another way to increase their revenue that will not sacrifice the security (if not only a fraction).

Recently I received a new phone for work where my app has existed for several years so I wanted to move the app without losing its contents to a different phone. Rhea walked me through how to move the app from one iTunes account to another and it worked like a charm. She was professional, prompt and very knowledgeable. Thank you Rhea!

    I was so happy with Keeper until now. I opted out of the paying option because I have used the basic, free, one with no problem for 5 years...maybe even longer and now I cannot get ANY of my passwords if I don’t pay the $29.99. Very disappointed!! I am giving them 3 stars because it really has been an awesome and reliable app until now! Update: I emailed the support team as asked and they resolved my issue. For some reason I was on a paid account. When it didn’t renew, it sent me that “pay” notice and locked me out. After contacting support, they put my account back on the free account. I am all good now! Thanks Keeper Support!
