  • Do you care?

    I realize we complain but the urgency to fix anything is minimal seeing as how we need this app for our jobs. 1) multiple job log-in. Come on! An account is an account. How is it that you can’t link them? 2) holy updates of not changing much. Really necessary? If so, tell us why, even the under the surface stuff. Help silence the peanut gallery. 3) the new method of entering availability is a bit wack. I’m trying to be as efficient and clear as possible for both jobs and it’s caused some conflicts. 4) am I missing a setting to see coworker’s phone numbers? 1/2 my coworkers say they can see each other’s on the app, 1/2 don’t. Curious how to fix it. 5) thanks for your hard work!
  • Literally have to sign in every other day now?

    It used to hold my sign in for weeks. Now I can’t go a day without having to sign in which makes planning a huge pain.

    Every time the app gets updated it logs me out and lets me my account is suspended it usually takes a few days until it will let me log in again. This is such a pain because it’s how I get my work schedule.

    Only thing I ever could find wrong with this app is that it very randomly will log me out ever two or three days and force me to log back in, despite still receiving notifications and it’s just blatantly annoying

    I have to re-enter my password ALL THE TIME! Why can’t it just remember my dang password?! This probably wouldn’t be an issue if they weren’t updating the app 3 times a week.

    Always kicks me out of my login. Never used to do it. For a paid app it should be fixed. Have had problems for the last year or so. I just want to not have to enter my password every time I open the app!

    It’s ridiculous how much HotSchedules doesn’t care about the functionality. They gave it yet another facelift instead of actually addressing the multitude of problems, such as pages not loading or taking 5 minutes to load, logging me out EVERY TIME I close and reopen the app, not to mention all of the times it’s deleted my schedule that I had posted for my employees. Please, do not be fooled by them. If I had a choice, I would NEVER use HotSchedules ever again after dealing with the same nonsense for over 3 years. If you are a business owner, do not, I repeat, DO NOT choose this as your scheduling platform. You are better suited using good old fashioned pen and paper. FIX YOUR ISSUES NOW!

    I think this app is great, it’s always been my favorite. Every time I have a job that uses hot schedules it makes my life so much easier, but I have two jobs that’s use hot schedules and it’s really irritating not being able to merge them. I don’t want to have a completely new user and password and log in and out every day. Get it together hot schedules.

    This app gives me the hardest time signing in, and whenever i forget my password it is 0 help. I’ve been trying for days and have yet to receive an email. Don’t waste your money, i would love mine back. F**k this app

  • A Manager’s Perspective

    Despite the constant token and password word issues with every update, only half the reason why I gave two stars, I really like this app. It makes it super easy to leave notes for my fellow managers, to send messages to my employees via the app or to contact them by phone or text. The other reason I gave only two stars is this: There is no way for me to write my schedule on the app. The only way I can do that is to sit down at a computer and use the HS website. Being a manager sometimes I do not have the time to sit at a computer down to write my schedule. How great would it be if I didn’t have to be tethered to a desktop or have to lug my laptop around with me? It’d be awesome! I could do a little bit here, a little there. This would free me up to be able to do the schedule anywhere since I always have my phone.

    This app would have so much more potential if it wouldn’t need an update literally every week just to be functional. Crashes very often and signs me out randomly. Servers are always slow retrieving data. The availability option for work is VERY buggy even after all of the updates. It adds in random days of availability I have not selected after I submit the form. Not worth the 3 dollars I payed for it.

    Every time I open the app, it’s always makes me sign in. A lot of times, it won’t let me sign in because there is some sort of bull crap problem. Really crappy and I hate it.

    The app randomly forgets the Password. Notifications do not work. They have never worked since I got this app. Neither app notifications nor email Notifications work.

    I so miss this scheduling app. It’s so simple and easy to navigate. You can also have it sync with your google calendar and it will send you reminders for your work shifts. I miss it :(

    app is prone to constant crashes, refuses to save login info - occasionally keeps my username, but only occasionally. every crash, logged out. every notification, logged out. it doesn’t matter how recently i was on the app. If i checked my schedule and 25 minutes later i got a notification it was modified, i’d be logged out without ever completely closing the app.

    The iPad version of this app is indeed much more powerful than its iPhone counterpart, but still has a long ways to go if one is considering a tablet as a total computer replacement. There is no solution for creating/copying/posting schedules, and using the HS schedule via browser on the iPad is frustrating to say the least. What we need is a pro-level app for tablet users, or a specific manager app that offers these tools. Some minor UI adjustments would be welcome as well, making better use of the screen real estate offered on the iPad. Amendment: Why did the most recent update take away the timeline roster report that was unique to the iPad experience? This was so intuitive and helpful and really set the iPad experience apart from the website and/or the iPhone app. Another update: I can’t believe I didn’t notice this sooner: it doesn’t seem the iPad app supports split screen on the iPad. MAJOR BUMMER HERE.

    This use to be the best and easiest scheduling app and I loved having it for work. Now every single time I try to look at my schedule I have to re-sign in. I’ve updated in several times and it still hasn’t been fixed. NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY

  • Does Not Function Properly

    Access to the dashboard stopped working about three months ago. The app will timeout after a while if you try to access it. A calendar for management to log important events for the restaurant would be extremely useful. It makes no sense that I have to scroll through every day of the month to try and find a note about an upcoming event when a calendar showing the events would solve the problem.

    I’ve always loved using HS, but I’m guessing the most recent update took away the feature to be able to see crew hours for the week under the roster tab. We previously used it to see who was getting close to overtime, and it isn’t displayed anymore as of recently.

    I’ve read the same similar issue happening for others in other reviews too but for me it keeps saying incorrect username and password when NEITHER are incorrect because 1 i go to the website and login and it works fine and 2 I’ve never changed my password so there’s really no reason for it to be saying “correct” for an app I payed for I’m expecting better

    I absolutely hate having to re-downlod the app EVERY time there's a minor update, where most of the time you don't even feel anything change. And this is almost every (other) month. Why not just have all the versions be compatible and let the users choose to update at their own pace /convenience? It's such a hassle.

    I wouldn’t down load this app for free but my job requires it. Constantly loosing the password and log in. Every time I’m in a new area traveling I know it’s just going to freak out every time so I try to wait to open the app when I’m hooked up to my usual towers or WiFi. Don’t ask me why this would ever matter but the pattern is there.
