Proloquo2Go is an award-winning symbol-based communication app that gives a voice to those who cannot speak. Over 200,000 people already use this AAC app as a powerful tool for expressing themselves and increasing their communication skills and language development. Its innovative features let users, parents, teachers and therapists quickly personalize the app. Proloquo2Go is an AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) app used by people with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy and other diagnoses. It is available in English, Spanish, French, and Dutch for iPad, iPhone, iPod touch and Apple Watch. “Users can open Proloquo2Go and begin to use it for effective communication immediately” – Susan Berkowitz, MS-SLP, AAC Consultant. Feature highlights • Crescendo™, a complete research-based core word vocabulary with 10,000+ fringe words • Quickly and easily customizable – everything from the vocabulary to the appearance • Designed for a range of fine-motor and visual skills with options like 23 pre-programmed grid sizes • Use your regional vocabulary and accent with British, Australian and American English, Parisian and Canadian French, Castilian and American Spanish, and Dutch and Flemish. The app also supports bilingual use, and you can even switch languages mid-sentence • 100 natural-sounding free voices across all languages, including children’s voices Research-based Proloquo2Go puts the user’s development first with features based on clinical knowledge and user research. Studies show that just 200-400 words make up 80% of what we say – known as core words. Combined with best practices like modeling, teaching core words has been shown to grow language and communication skills. Our Crescendo™ vocabulary is based on this insight and puts core words front and center for easy access. Grows communication skills Proloquo2Go is one of the few AAC apps designed to support all users, from beginning to advanced. This lets someone develop from single words to full grammatical sentences in the same app. With over 10,000 words available, there’s no limit on what you can say. Our Progressive Language feature reveals words step by step. This helps communicators learn words and their location as their vocabulary gradually grows. Research has shown that consistent placement of objects supports easy recognition, known as motor planning. With this in mind, Proloquo2Go's thematic templates keep core words in the same places throughout the vocabulary. This helps communicators by reducing time wasted trying to find words. Easy customization and accessibility Buttons, pages, navigation and access - the whole app is customizable. With just a few taps, you can make it suit both vocabulary and accessibility needs. For the most important things to you, you can add your own buttons. The app comes with more than 25,000 symbols for new words – but you can use your own photos too. Accessibility settings support scanning and Apple’s VoiceOver, for users with fine-motor challenges and vision impairments. These make the app work with how you’re comfortable using it. Comprehensive support We’re there for you every step of the way. Help articles in the app are there whenever you need them. New to AAC? Our website has background resources in the Learn AAC section, and the AssistiveWare Core Word Classroom includes activities for teaching AAC effectively. You can also connect directly with our AAC community on our Facebook groups. If you have any questions, our support team is available 7 days a week, and is happy to help. Discounts available with Apple’s educational Volume Purchase Program – 50% off on 20 licenses or more. Joan Bruno’s Gateway to Language & Learning© vocabulary is available as in-app purchase (English only).

  • Amazing!

    By Ryry7.5
Proloquo2 is my son’s voice. I am so grateful he has words through this app on his device! He can tell me how he is feeling, whether he wants to be by himself or have me near, he can order his own food, ask for a break or the bathroom, and unlike the PECs we used to use, we can add more words on the spot as needed or desired. The communication I have with my child through Proloquo2 is priceless!
  • Great

    By Marryfarry12
This app is very comprehensive! Yet, easy enough for both mom and a 3 year old to use. We are still learning but once we get there!

I’ve always liked Proloquo2Go but a coworker likes speak for yourself. I now can say I have a search in Proloquo2Go . Now I’m wondering if you can make a hide feature! I also forgot I think you have a feature that you can use if a kid perseverates on a button and it continues to just speak speak speak.. I forgot how you can fix/help that.
  • Love Proloquo2Go!

    By BAR112
Purchased for a different reason than most: to learn Spanish—it seems to work great for that! Love the long-press to get verb tenses and more. Since I’m a visual learner, the symbols for Spanish words reinforce learning. I get the spoken voice for each word and also the entire sentence. Also enjoy Keeble Spanish keyboard as well. If you’re wondering if you can use it to learn another language, I would say yes—get it while it’s half price!
  • Must have aac device app

  • Ridiculously complicated

    By wenmel
We purchased this several years ago for my son, he also uses it at school. After adding folders/vocab words only to have him delete them, I’m giving up. Plus, the interface is so overwhelming it’s hard for him to find the right words to use. Disappointing, I really wanted this to work.
  • Great app!

    By SytheticElegance
Happy that such an app exists. Our toddler who we suspected to be on the spectrum before his second birthday has been using this app for about the past 6 months. He turned three not long ago and has been learning how to communicate using the app with the help of his therapists. I really like that it can be customized for early learners such as my toddler. The only reason I give it four stars is because he uses this app on the iPad, but for some reason he has trouble swiping up/down for some reason even after we try to show him over and over again. We were told it’s probably a fine motor issue. For now, we all swipe the page for him to access the rest of his icons. I would love it if the ability to swipe left to right were included since he is able to do that with no problem.

  • No legacy support for older IPads? Resolved

    By Amurra Grace
This issue has been resolved. Anyone wishing to load on an older IPad needs to contact Support for information. I’m not sure if we are missing any functionality because of this. (Waiting to hear from support but seriously....I have to buy a new IPad because it won’t run on two perfectly good older iPads? Why isn’t there legacy software that will work on OS9*?)
  • Best communication app available

    By Daisy209998
I use the app I totally recommend it! The app is the best one out there for communication and has so many voices you can add your own images other ones I’ve seen the voices are seoprate the app is easy to navigate and figure out you can add words change pronounces which I love you can add folders which is helped me figure out were all of the things are though. I use this to communicate becuase I cant speak its the perfect app though not that expensive compared to the other ones I’ve see. The only thing I wish that I could turn off is the news for the app since it drives me crazy to get notifications about new update please make a setting to turn that off other than that it’s good app
  • Great app. You get a lot for what you pay.

    By Gursvgjhgdwyhv
I’m autistic and I have seizures as well as SPD and complex PTSD. I have Fibromyalgia, lupus and ME (chronic fatigue if you don’t know what it basically is.) and many other diagnosis. This app has helped me communicate when I can’t. I am verbal but some situations cause me to lose my ability to talk. Great quality, great vocabulary, wide selection of voices to choose from. All around great app for anyone with a need to use an AAC.
  • Amazing

Great communication app! Best investment I ever made for my daughters with Autism. Worth every penny!!
  • Very simple to manage!

    By PRH n VA
This app is extremely versatile. You can use a library of pictures, take pictures from within the app, and even choose photos from your device’s album. There are multiple voices avail which you can customize the characteristics of each. You can make it as simple or complex as you want. We started with just a few icons for our cognitively disabled son and gradually increased the grid to (currently) like 6x8 grid of icons. He knows it’s layout better than we do. This is an awesome app with awesome support both through developer and a Facebook users support page! I highly recommend this app. If you feel your iPad is not loud enough with a protective case, there are amplified iPad cases you can buy elsewhere.
  • A voice

    By Games1st
This app offers a voice for those who can’t speak.
  • Good App

    By Angie SLP
As an SLP, I find this app to be comprehensive and user-friendly. One complaint though, I don’t appreciate being prompted for a review mid-use! This is a paid app designed for use as an AAC device for individuals with limited communication skills. I would not be happy if I was in the midst of a training session with a nonverbal student and had to deal with a pop-up request for a rating!
  • Empowering

    By Evan's Dad 2012
Although we’re still just getting started this software is already proving to be empowering, proving my non-verbal son has more to say than we sadly ever gave him credit for. Definitely a learning curve, but given the stakes and the customization available, it’s not too bad. Can’t wait to watch him advance with it, hopeful he continues on his current trajectory! Thank you!
  • Thumbnail photos need to expand when selected

    By maria's dad
When we set a photo image for selection, we would like our daughter to be able to expand the photo when she touches it in the same way that a photo experience in an album of photos.
  • Crucial app

    By Tyger 500
My granddaughter is essentially non-verbal. For years, 11 to be exact, we have tried to give her a voice. We thought because she can repeat that she would eventually began to talk. To our dismay it did not happen. Finally with the advice from a girlfriend I decided she needed a communication device. I purchased a iPad mini and loaded Proloquo2Go on it. She is picking it up fairly well to my delight. This program on the recommended intermediate is so expansive. I love how you can customize it. I wish I had done this years ago because we would be on a better speech ground by now. Please to all who have similar circumstances do not delay whether the child has speech or not make the worthwhile purchase of a speech program. This program is certainly affordable and can be utilized into adulthood!!

First time I updated the app waited hours and it still won’t open . I purchased on July 20 not even two months. 270 dollars should be refunded. Had many things started for my grandson and now he cannot even use the app he is semi verbal but now that we cannot even open he is very upset . Thank goodness grandma put abc mouse on his kindle works just great .
  • TouchchatHD vs Proloquo2Go

    By Monacienta
My autistic non-verbal granddaughter had TouchchatHD when she came to live with me this summer. It was good, I had gotten Proloquo2Go years ago when she would visit. She had to give up her other device with the TouchchatHD and with the purchase of a small refurbished iPad, the Proloquo2Go program has proved to be exceptional and easy to learn. I love that it says the letters as she types. A very good program, although not the latest version because of the age of the iPad. Still works great.

  • Game changer

    By Paagalladki
I started using P2G for my son at the age of 5. He has autism. And since then he has surprised me thousands of times , at times I was so confident that I know what he wants to but when he expressed himself using P2G it was no where close to what I had assumed.A must buy for all desperate parents who want to take one step ahead in this long journey.
  • Making a choice

    By SanazR
It would be nice to be able to activate a pop up screen that allows student to only have a choice of two items so for example only 2 buttons that say cheese or bread so that they don’t keep choosing all other items that ar not a available at the moment.
  • Keyboard

How do you make the keyboard smaller

    By Autism RN
This app has been perfect to give my non-verbal son with autism a functional means to communicate. His behaviors have decreased. I have recommended this app to many others and even for people who have communication issues due to stroke, neurological issues, etc
  • A voice for K.

We have been using this app for 7 years and love it! We appreciate how easy it is to program and use. I researched for several months before making the purchase for home use. This was the highest recommended at the time. Our son is 20 and non verbal unless prompted to say something. He quickly figured out he could make food and beverage choices which was very motivating for him. We even have it programmed for fast food choices. He also uses it to select leisure activity choices. I highly recommend this app! Our previous device was heavy, slow to start and cost $7,000. The iPad, app and protective case was well under $1,000.
  • Great app!

    By Loretta Ann M
Thank you so much! As a primarily nonverbal transgender woman with autism, your app has granted me the ability to communicate again after I suddenly and without warning lost my voice at 23 due to extreme post-traumatic stress disorder. Thank you so very much!

  • Impossible for parents/pre-schoolers

    By Impossible for parents/pre-k
My daughter had tried another app and did well with it so I wanted to get her the "best" app. Well this thing is terrible. I've had it for a month and can't get it set-up in a way that's workable for her. It's incredibly difficult for her to navigate. No wonder they don't offer a trial, no one would buy it after tyring it. To top it off, we consulted with a AAC specialist and she said this is the worst app of them all.
  • App not working at all after last update

    By Supersteinberg
This last update made it impossible for my son to use the app for communication. We have had non stop tantrums because of his inability to communicate and his high frustration levels.

  • Great app needs more voices and more grammar supports

    By AutismDogGirl
Over all this is a really good app However it needs a lot more voice options , there needs to be more diverse voices and more range in the voices. So far all the voices are mostly white if not for the Spanish language vocabulary set. This needs addressing Additionally there needs more grammar supports and ability to ad to or edit the grammar supports or make a work have both bpverb noun supports This also really needs to be available on Android. More languages eventually would also be good, like polish and Irish and finish
  • A Positive Behavior Modifier and Freedom Giver

    By Female_gamer_74
As a multi-disabled woman who is nonverbal, deaf, partially blind, mild autistic and slightly physically disabled, I found this app, Proloquo2Go a helpful in modifying my behavior to match my age in a positive way and liberates me from using communication partner (the interpreter) by giving me the degree of freedom to communicate with the hearing people while I am on trip for various activities such as shopping. This app was very helpful in preparing me for open our world to prove that I can freely communicate with whoever as I am on go. I believe this app has given me the increased degree of independence of communication and social time. It has given me many positive avenues for shaping my future life through undergo a positive behavior modification and positive social time.

    By Souporstarv
I had problems with an update and because of a bad review, Pam from customer service, contacted me proactively and helped me resolve the issue! One big shoutout to you, Pam! You did your job with great patience and acumen! C'mon, Proloquo, don'tchya think Pam is up for a pay raise? (My idea, not hers!) Anyone who gives this product a bad review does not know how to use it!

  • Great! Only one request

    By Books2718
Most reviewers speak of what Proloquo2Go can do for children with communication difficulties. But it is important to point out that it is also a powerful communications tool for adults who have lost their ability to speak due to neuromuscular disorders or other conditions. I lost my voice to primary lateral sclerosis and have been relying on AAC technology since 2007. I've been using Proloquo2Go since the first iPad came out. I love having the power of sophisticated speech in a lightweight package. I especially appreciate the amazing customizability that gets increasingly powerful with each update. I've created well over a thousand custom buttons that get me through most of the situations I encounter, from shopping through doctor visits. The variety of available voices and the ability to assign different voices to different buttons adds a little fun to the day. My one wish is to be able to import a sound and assign it to a button.
  • Quality regressed

    By Booksgonewild
I have used this app with hundreds of kids with great success and recommended it to many schools in the past. I have conducted district wide trainings on how to program. This versions programming is not at all intuitive and has lost its ease of use. I myself am frustrated and am finding myself utilizing other communication apps. Sad because this really is the best when it comes to features but now takes a far back seat to those that are more intuitive in programming
