    Last minute plans, so scheduling a towncar at Oakland airport area was not possible..Lyft was able to provide a driver for same service scheduled about 4 hours in advance of travel...driver was exactly on time and made it to the destination quickly...clean car, friendly driver...safe driver...was a pleasant experience.

    I find Lyft drivers to be more punctual (sometimes arrive earlier), kind and they enjoy their job. I really believe that Lyft is so much more enjoyable and cost competitive than Uber. Way to go Lyft drivers!!

    For the most part I have wonderful rides and experiences with your drivers but for the last 2 days a couple of your drivers are horrible they cancel rides, go to wrong places and don’t reply to text messages and can’t even read them or understand. I am calling lyft now and if I am not compensated for my couple last rides I will not be using lyft anymore I will go back to using uber

    I live on a street that has been built with new construction for 24 months now but Lyft can find it which often means difficult to have driver find us. Very difficult to the point where it’s not worth it as I need to walk blocks away to locate.

    I finally signed up for Lyft in anticipation of using the service for some trips I have coming up soon. I work from home and own a car so using rideshare wasn’t on my radar since most businesses I patronize are a mile or two from home. My wife and I planned a night out to give Lyft a whirl and added our credit card to our newly created accounts. Our ride showed up within 5 minutes and our driver was awesome. We chose to first hit up a bar 30 miles or so from home, caught a 2nd short 5 minute Lyft (again with no issues) and ended up at our final destination for the evening. Fast forward 3 hours and the club we were at closes down. My wife tries to book a Lyft home and is told our payment method is invalid. I try on my app and get a $47 fare offered... which is then declined because my payment method is also invalid. I’m 30 miles from home and it is almost 2am. We have zero credit cards on us because we knew the bar was cash only. Great. I decide to do a Hail Mary and manage to remember the password to a PayPal account I rarely use. That works, thankfully, but in just a few minutes time Lyft has jacked the price up to $57 but at this point it’s either pay even more or spend the night on the street. Upon arriving home I spoke with the card issuer who verified that the charges for the previous two Lyft rides went through fine and said I should have no issues using the card with Lyft going forward. Lyft’s customer service took nearly 8 hours to respond to me. Lyft blames this snafu 100% on the bank and seemed completely uninterested in doing anything to make this right for me. I didn’t even get a voucher code or anything. Needless to say Lyft suggests my account is dead in the water unless I add a new card to my account. Well, what if I didn’t have more than one credit card? And... why would I want to go through this hassle all over again where I manage to get somewhere but have no way to get home because the Lyft app magically decides my other credit card is invalid? I’m supposed to believe some random app company over a bank I’ve been doing business with for years? Right... About the only positive thing I can say about Lyft was all 3 drivers I had were professional and good at their job... definitely cannot say anything positive about this app or their pathetic attempt at customer service.

    If someone starts a class action suit against Lyft, please sign me up! This app underestimates fares in NYC by nearly half then stocks you with the bill. They’re squeezing out NYC cabs by lying to consumers about projected fare rates.

    The app is great except for currant location- always had my driver 2-3 minutes from My currant location- it was very strange. I really had to know my address for my driver to arrive at my location

    Very very poor customer experience regarding lost items. After sending a preliminary message to your driver, you are unable to view or edit your message, and are blocked out of any further communication. Extremely frustrating

    I don’t know if he left, canceled or what! I was standing in the rain looking for him, do who knows. I couldn’t find a way to contact him I didn’t know the status. Luckily, another driver was able to pick me up. I am not likely to use Lyft again.
  • Poor interface for scheduling rides

    Trying to schedule an early morning pickup was very frustrating. Cryptic icon for reviewing what you have already scheduled, shows incomplete info (omitting minor details like whether or not the scheduled ride is XL). Saying that a driver will contact to confirm scheduled ride - without providing any time frame for when that contact will happen - is not helpful. I find the software design of this front end to be very amateurish and clumsy. Helpful happy drivers might compensate for this defect in the scheduling module of the app, of course. When ordering a service that entails multiple attributes, a more intuitive interface should display all selected options on a single review screen, with the option to correct any errors on that same single window.

    My Lyft driver was rear ended - totally not her fault - and I had to contact Lyft to get her and the other driver’s contact information. After being on hold for a while, I was connected to one of their customer service representatives who just said “hello, hello” and I had to ask “sorry, is this Lyft customer support?” After he finally took me through several questions, he put me on hold and then disconnected me. I wasn’t even asking for money from Lyft! I just need the information of the other driver for insurance reasons! I had to get an X-ray!

    Unfortunately, the app has many features that are not very thoughtfully implemented. For starters, It shows you different wait times between when opening the app and when requesting a ride. The app has inaccurate wait times, which leads to cancellations. Then it shows whether your driver is dropping off a passenger before picking you up next... Like why? Why do I need to know this. It only annoys the hell outta me. I was riding in a Lyft in Phoenix, and the ride terminated mid-trip. I hope the driver able to get paid! 😩 I prefer Lyft over Uber because drivers say they earn more per ride on Lyft, but Lyft is testing my patience.

    Lyft is a refreshing, still new way of traveling! I love the diversity. Isn’t interesting how we all really can get along? I used to Taxis a lot. I do not mean any disrespect toward Taxi Drivers but I always felt like I was taking precious time away from Taxi Drivers; I waited in secluded, exclusive areas in San Francisco and Taxi would be no show; I waited in the rain; I waited when I had emergencies; I was treated based on how far I was going.     I do not usually write reviews online but I feel like this one is necessary. I have been helping my mom from a different state for a few months and had been using Uber for her transportation. She recently moved closer and as I put in her new address for pick up, I was notified that Uber “is not available” in my area. Thank you for expanding your maps and allowing pick ups in rural areas. I will use Lyft exclusively from now 🌸

  • Driver cancellations are frustrating

    I find with lyft that I often find myself waiting 5-10 minutes for a ride that in the end is cancelled by the driver. Then I have to start over again in the hopes that the next driver won’t cancel in the same manner. To top this off, there is no way in the app to provide feedback on a driver that cancelled on you.
