  • Clif notes for everyday reading

    By bluemeanieface
Was resistant to the concept at first but after trying it out for a week I see the potential here. I’ve wizzed through the main points of 8 books and garnered some potentially life changing tips. Here is where the concept fails: 1)Can only speed up 2x. 2)no silence erasing 3)the gap between “blinks” is fairly long 4)cannot change FF/RWD values. Always 15 seconds :/ 5)When exploring the app and its libraries, playback stops. 6)When you return to your selection, Blinkist often takes you back to the beginning of the Blink (I.e., chapter). Miss something? Hit rewind on headphones to take yourself all the way back to the beginning of the Blink. FF headphone button takes you to next Blink. How is this a timesaver, again? lol 7)Blinkist minute can only be played in real time. Ughhh. Feels very beta but if the developers keep honing the app I could see it taking off. As a constant consumer of audio, I find it a more than a little rough in its current incarnation.
  • Their Emails are Time Savers

    By JenniferVanegas
I love everything about Blinkist, but mainly love them for their emails. It’s saves so much time and it gets you to genuinely be interested in different topics.
  • Worth every dollar

Blinkest is an awesome tool for anyone who is focused on learning every day. Easy to digest and packed with info...
  • Awesome!!

    By FitnessMKE
I drive a lot for work and enjoy listening to blinks in addition to podcasts and books. Great app with a great selection of titles.
  • Gotta have this app

    By Katie's kiddos
The app is an easy way for me to keep my mind set in the right direction. When I’m frustrated or have been focused on something else for too long feel stuck then I’ll just listen to something that helps me keep my mind from spinning into negative thoughts.
  • Elaborate

    By midus12
It can be more elborative ......on certain important topics/examples
  • Requires Proactive customer services

    By Joshgood8
The app is amazing but the communication between costumers and helpers are very difficult. Simple inquiries can take many days to response or simply ignore.
  • Great app

    Learn a lot.
  • Would not recommend

    By ae1900redbird
I had a problem with my subscription, still not sure what the issue was. I emailed blinkist tech support three times over the span of the week regarding my subscription and charges, however the company never replied. I would not recommend at all. This is an unscrupulous company and it’s such a shame. I was charged without notification and my bank called me suspecting fraud and changed my data.
  • I love this app

    By tuna325
As reading addict, I read with purpose to learn, gain knowledge, and broaden my mind. This app makes me even more excited to learn, by getting cliff notes of each chapter of a book I am able to zoom in on the exact skill need to solve a problem I might be dealing with at the moment. It helps with me with motivation, insight, and overall intelligence growth! Love it! I use it probably 5 out of 7 days a week.
  • Exceptionally honest read

    By Shanobie61
Very fluent and fun to read, the design of the app is done in a way that makes you feel great when completing a read and presents the material in a way that doesn’t seem daunting but exciting.
  • Horrible

    By kittygirl704
I can find any books that are actually unlocked this app is horrible.
  • Buyer beware

    By Alopez2110
The free trial ends and billing takes place even if you cancel in the app. No one to speak with to request refund.
  • Nice app but lack of features

    By Ansar Rezaei
I need to highlight words and slangs easily and translate them to my own language, but it's not handy, I couldn't deselect words easily also, it's good for non english readers to have an option to pronounce some difficult words, The blinks don't have rating in order to help me to chose better one's. I need more option for customizing the color font and brightness of display. Any way it's contents are really amazing and I try to finish one blinks every day. Thank you all❤️❤️❤️
  • Just what I needed!

    By BecauseImEliana
I love to read. I really do. But, I don’t always have the time to read through a full book. And a lot of the time, great books are full of filler content. Blinkist does a good job at summarizing the main points, and I really appreciate that they have an audio option as well. I’ll definitely be subscribing after my free trial. Great app guys!
  • Love the app - wish it had rating though!

    By jennifer_nie
My husband and I love Blinkist - best app of our 2018! Wish it has rating/short review of the book.
  • For those interested in growth...

Blinkist is plainly the easiest and fastest way to download wisdom.
  • Great Product

I love being able to hear a short version of a book that just gets to the point
  • Waste of time

Literally unusable unless you give them money.
  • Great idea, but here as some points for improvement

    By sashia0505
The title gives away pretty much what I’m about to say, I loveee this idea! Great concept and easy to use platform! If I’m not sure if to buy a book this definitely helps and even without buying it I still get the core bits of the book so it’s a win win.. (win for the actual writer and more persons can potentially become a buyer and win for having the app because regardless it’s great content so on its own it also worth listening to, like a book Verizon of podcast without the fluff that makes some programs into an hour when they don’t need to be) So let me keep this short The things I believe are must to improve on! 1. The lady reading the audio books, at times her voice can sound very robotic and takes away from getting the highlights. It goes into a monotone or a tone that isn’t very relatable and probably not how the writer intended it to be read. So as much as I love the concept I will be keep an eye out for other similar programs to see if I can find a better voice to listen to that gives not only the content but I feel like I’m reading the book myself or a real human is interacting me always. Sometimes she sounds fine and then she doesn’t midway in a sentence or a few sentences later so it loose me somewhat. 2. Sometimes I like to skim what a book is about whilst picking out other books, I do the same with podcast. In this app I can not, do long as I am listening to it I can look for other titles and add to my library the app stops. Whilst this can be a plus so I actually listen to the content... at times when I’m really just doing a quick dive being able to look for other items would be useful.. I do it on my Apple podcast app all the time and it works for me.. when I’m done I can go back and listen to it again if I truly found it interesting or I already have a line up of other I want to try when I’m on the road driving. This one should be an easier fix since the feature is offered in many other apps. This is my feedback for now! Hope it makes this an even better platform!
  • You must be kidding.

$90 a year? For summarizing other people's content? Yeah no thanks.

Nothing unique to Blinkist. Standard apps scam. Trial that rolls into a purchase. In this case a very expensive purchase. I missed cancelling by a day and their service department was “so sorry” they could not get my money back for the service I don’t want. My commit to blinkist is to tell everyone I know to avoid this app like the plague.
  • Read more ... or less

    By DouglasEDollar
I love books. However my time, like most, is limited. To make matters worse, I read slowly. Blinkist helps me read more without reading more 😉
  • Brain food

    By Hoosier Boomer
Blinkist is perfect for those who lead a busy life yet subscribe to the idea of lifelong learning. 10-20 book audio book reviews that you can listen to while working out, driving, eating lunch solo makes for a terrific daily diet of Brain food.
  • All I have read.

    Excellent synopses. Enjoyed a lot!
  • Talking Tips

    By Araina Aray
I enjoyed immensely the “Talking Tips” article and the practical suggestions of growing your own business and entrepreneurialship!
  • Scam: Buyer Beware - full charge before due date

    By Schooloflaw
This app has some good qualities. Registered for a regular charge. Vendor charged full amount before expiration. Additionally, vendor charged incorrect amount. Dont trust vendor.
  • Solid idea. Could use some finesse.

    By <3txcole<3
First and foremost I love the content and the ease of consumption. I think this is an amazing resource for those of us who always have more on the reading list than we have time to read. I am a little disappointed that so many of the readings sound like a computerized voice and not a person. Also, it’s been a long time since I’ve been charged for a full year of a service after a free trial without being reminded ahead of time. Not sending a reminder before charging for a year of your service seems predatory.
  • not worth the money

    By L14fan
nice idea, execution is lacking - the summaries are written in third person, and so you get very little of the 'feel' of the actual book. I was hoping this would give me an intro into books I could dive into more deeply, but instead, it's bare bones summaries that give very little value. I would write the summaries in the same POV as the original author - lack of quotes or detail on impactful pieces in the book. instead, everything is this bland book report style essay that feels like an unengaged high schooler wrote it. e.g I'm reading a self help book and they basically just say 'exercise is important! so is food!' and I'm like okay.. not really any value in reading things I already know with no additional context beyond absolute basics - too short: when you pare something down SO much, you again lose value. these summaries are not worth reading IMO because so many details and studies etc are just missing ways I would improve the app: - abridged versions in the narration style of the author. doesn't have to be perfect, but at least write in first person if the author does. I say abridged because that would be much more valuable than simply summarized versions. the summary takes out all the soul and important details. I would much prefer the book with the fluff taken out and the details condensed rather than removed almost entirely - partner with third party book retailers to get additional revenue by offering links to purchase the books. use this money to spend more on staff (to make better blinks) or to lower costs of subscriptions
  • An ADD person’s dream!

    By LoveToLearnButCantFocus
I usually don’t have the patience or attention span to get through a single book in even a handful of weeks. I also love listening, so I only use the audio feature. This has been so fun to feel like I’m “reading” all of these neat books and get the main gist of them! Especially useful for plane rides—avoid motion sickness bc of listening and get to power through at least 5 books instead of several hours of the same story dragging on and on. I always feel like I’m learning something new too. :)
  • So worth it!

    By Bro(;
I was hesitant to subscribe to another thing with a monthly payment, but this is so totally worth it. My attention span is ridiculous, and I don’t usually find the time to read the books that i want to bc I’m in grad school and have so much reading to do!! It’s also really hard for me to decide what to read, so I waste a lot of available time...I realize this is the most first-world thing, I’m a little ashamed. In any case, I didn’t hold out a lot of hope that this would help, but it really has been awesome. There are so many titles on here that I’ve wanted to read, and the way the info is broken down is good info, makes sense, and the whole thing is very user friendly. Obviously I still plan to read full books as well, but this has helped me with that also bc of the “summary screen” at the beginning of each reading/book which lists specifically who the book is best for - and that has saved me from buying some of those that I thought sounded interesting but were really aimed at something else. Definitely one of my best subscriptions!

Best thing since invention of wheel! So smart for a person on the go
  • No Family Sharing

    By eventually816511
This app does not support Family Sharing, even though they advertise that they do in the App Store.
  • Expensive as 🔥

    By Chance3D
Used the app like once and wasn’t a fan of it, forgot to cancel the free trial and now I’ve wasted nearly $80. I figured since I paid for it I might as well try to use it. The readers are generally too monotone and I end up spacing out and not paying attention. Reminds me of high school.
  • Concise, but not lost.

I love Blinkist! Main points with the optimal amount of detail!
  • What an awesome idea!!!!

    By BJLindy1
I am absolutely loving this app and concept. I ❤️ to read but my life is so busy that it’s difficult to read all the books I want to read. I now listen to books on your app on my commute home from work. I read books on my phone when I am waiting online. This app is unique. It is like getting cliff notes on all your favorite books. I am totally hooked!
  • Do not take the trial.

    By Billjrbbj
It is impossible to cancel the trial subscription. There is no place in the settings to cancel it.
  • Tsk tsk

  • Amazed !

    By Manny G 13
this is an awesome app for people who dont have the time to read a full book ! would recommend blinkist to anyone that is into reading. One thing tho is I really wish they would offer more genres, other than that awesome app !
  • Trial/Refund is a lie

    By Quik1882
I started the app for the trial and was charged immediately. They have a 14 day money back guarantee so I over looked it. Figured I had 7 days to try it right? So I put in for a refund request after 2 days and it was denied by Apple. I then put in a request to with blinkist customer support and was told to talk to Apple. Apple however wouldn’t allow me to create a ticket for an issue that they ruled is not refundable. Blinkist said my account doesn’t exist. It existed enough for them to take my money of course.
  • Excellent

    By Nonsco
I love Blinkist. It gives me the most efficient access to so much knowledge and information.
  • Charges outside of Apple

    By spcjos
This app is illegal and goes outside standard use policy
  • Horrible App

    By southbaybrian
I read one of their articles for free and I decided to join. They never let me read anymore. Just constant bugs. The subscription was registered in the App Store, just couldn’t read anything. Tried to sign in, tried to reset password, kept getting error messages. So I unsubscribed.
