I have been using this app for a long time and love how easy it is to keep track of my tasks. The only thing I’d change is the ability to have my iCal events automatically import as tasks.

Todoist is a comprehensive time management app. There are so many features that it can be somewhat overwhelming. We all want simple, but we also want effective. Instead of stumbling in the dark or trying to reinvent the wheel, do a search for “Todoist Carl Pullen”. He has YouTube videos that will guide the Todoist novice.

The desktop version of this app is good, especially for a free app. You can add all your ToDos and prioritize them. Unfortunately the iOS mobile version of this app doesn’t work. It freezes when I try to log in. I need my ToDo list while on the go, so I’ll be switching to another app.

This app is powerful!!! Have not come across a better combination capture tool and list manager. Has every feature I need to stay absolutely on top of EVERYTHING! For me...truly life changing, I’m not kidding!!!!
  • Best task organization an prioritization tool I’ve ever used

I’m a visual / paper oriented person. I’ve tried several software packages and mobile apps over the years for effectively managing my time and keeping commitments. Each time I’ve ended up returning to my paper planner or only automating one aspect of my planning system—ex. calendar only. However, I have been able to integrate my full planning system between Todoist and Google Calendar and stuck with it successfully for the past four months now.

Probably a great app but a bug is keeping me from logging in. Every time I try to enter my password it drops the keyboard and then taps in the middle of the screen register at the bottom of the screen meaning I can’t do anything but highlight the forgot your password link.

Simple, single app that interfaces with 0365 perfectly. That’s the winning ticket. If you can manage my tasks, which all come in via email, you’ve won me over. I’ve used it for 3 years now and not looked back. The gamification is good too, as they were an early adopter and did a nice non-creepy approach. The karma makes you realize how much value you are getting from the service. On the rare occasion, it will need an reinstall. When it’s down, I’m totally off course! All my interaction with the company have been pleasant and super quick. Web interface is perfect but the office add in works flawless. Price is worth it 100%. There is no tool that can do it all. Not even outlook. They try, but ultimately there are too many aspects to connect, and too many users not using all those features. 365 with one note is too feature rich. If there are too many steps, I’m out. Great app!

On iphone 6 plus, i cannot log in using my premium subscription when attempting to log in via email (not google or fb). The keyboard disappears when clicking the password field and then no controls respond.
  • Bring back swipe delete!

Was working and nicely integrating. Then after a forced update, it now is a tedious task to mark tasks completed. I use my iPad, and if you touch more than just the inside of the circle, it highlights the task instead of deleting. It honestly took 7 touches on one of my tasks to mark it complete. Can’t imagine trying it on a phone.
  • Doesn’t work for Apple Watch

Does not work on Apple Watch series 3. As soon as I launch the app, it transitions to a black screen for a second, then crashes. Please fix.

The app is easy to use with tons of quick features. You don’t have to use all of them to make it worth your while but using really helps productivity.
  • Outstanding!

Pretty much perfect. Outstanding control of the way recurring tasks can be scheduled, and superb grouping and management tools. Available on all my devices, including Apple Watch Series 4, which means I always have super fast and easy access to my to do list for maximum productivity. Can be made to fit almost any Task Management Methodology, including no methodology at all.

Just an excuse for the developer to harass you with multiple pointless emails daily. App does not perform as advertised. Alerts don’t work, does not integrate with iOS a total waste of time.

My family and I use this app to organize our family events and responsibilities. We have regular family to discuss and plan vacations, family activities, regular chores, etc. everybody has a phone so everyone is “onboard”. Works for us.
  • I want to switch to Todoist but....

    2
    By Taylor.Lynn
I actually really like Todoist as a whole, but for me to actually switch and PAY for the service there’s quite a few issues. Note: I use the iOS app exclusively. - For the love, please allow calendar event viewing. This is standard on most task apps nowadays. I should have the option to be able to view my iCloud or google calendar events within Todoist so I don’t have to switch between apps. - Badge app icons - I hate them with everything that I am, however I do appreciate them for letting me know when something is overdue. Whenever I see one, I go straight into the app to see what it is that needs attention. Todoist forces its badge app icons for all tasks due “Today” even if the task is not overdue. Therefore I get to stare at badge app icons all day OR turn them off altogether within Apple Settings which makes me afraid I’ll miss something at the end of the day. This is such an overdue feature it’s not even funny. - It’s too hard to simply delete a task. I have to click the task, then click again to delete, oh and then confirm to delete. That’s 3 steps for what should be max 2. Most task apps have an option when swiping right or left to quickly delete. - Please clean up the main screen. There is no need for a big “+ Add Project / Label / Filter” at the end of each section as there is already a nice little “+” button directly to the right of each section that is accessible without expanding the section. It just adds more clutter to the screen. - Please condense the Next 7 Days screen, each tasks takes up much more space than is necessary. For instance, the project could easily be moved up a line when a time is not selected. I rarely assign times for tasks anyway. - Ability to filter by label within a project, this is not currently possible. - Moving tasks to projects should be easier. I have to perform multiple steps when I should be able to simply swipe and move or select and have the option listed below, instead of having to select “more” - Please make subtasks more user-friendly and visually appealing. I should be able to select multiple tasks within the inbox and merge them so they appear as subtasks. With my current workflow I have to assign one task to a “parent task” and then can drag and drop other tasks into the list; this is a lot of work for someone who brain dumps via Apple Watch throughout the day and wants to eventually combine tasks (groceries for instance). Additionally, when viewing subtasks it would look more visually appealing for completed subtasks to be automatically moved to the bottom of the list and then grey’ed out (and also look more like subtasks, maybe the main tasks in bold or larger font?) Currently completed subtasks stay in their position until you manually archive or move them. - This is not the end of the world, but I would really like to be able to change the color of the app icon (like you can with TickTick). Red is just such a choice color. On a positive note, really great job with the NLP, it is truly superior to anything else out there.
  • Wonderful with one thing missing

This app is absolutely excellent! The only thing missing is customization of what projects show up in the "today list".
  • ALMOST perfect.

Love it. Think it’s great. Only reason I didn’t give it a five star is for two reasons: 1.) doesn’t seem to show WHO originally created or assigned a task, only who they assigned it to. This seems like an obvious oversight. ALSO 2.) it doesn’t seem like there’s an option for you to be able to “assign” a task to more than one person in the event a task is the joint responsibility of more than one person. Again, I’m confused why this isn’t available. If I’m just ignorant of how to achieve one or both of these things then I stand corrected... but currently I’m unable to figure it out.

Overall an amazing app. I use it across all my devices and the syncing always works flawlessly. It’s clean, smart, and very intuitive and makes organizing my life a breeze. The only things I wish they’d add would be a) an option to have dark mode turn on at sundown and off at sunrise, and b) an ability to add notes to a task (details, links etc like you can add a note to a calendar event in iCal). Keep up the great work devs!
  • Misleading

This app isn’t totally free. You are asked to upgrade for monthly/ yearly fee in order to receive push notifications. That really annoyed me. I signed up only to get to a screeching halt with the need to pay for a todo list. Smh!

Title says it all. This app has been a fantastic tool in helping me stay organized and on track. Being able to sync with all my devices and computers (both Mac and PC) allows me to not lose a step. Premium was a great decision and I am excited to have my work and personal life on track!
  • Waste of time.

I took time to register just to see if I’ll like this app and I will spend time writing this review to say that they don’t include a simple reminder feature in this which appears to be a demo version. Why would I pay for the ish I might not like?
  • Alexa Skill broken for two months plus

Todoist no longer removes items checked as completed from Alexa list. Support blames Amazon and has not attempted to fix. If you rely on Alexa interoperability look elsewhere.

This app was just what I was looking for. It makes it so easy to update my shared list and it syncs with my Echo’s list!
  • Missing Swipe (Update)

I don’t like the new way to remove items, now that it has been changed to a check instead of a swipe. Since this review I heard back that you can change this in settings. So happy to have the swip back! Great customer service response!
  • Amazing app, great support!

I use Todoist at home and at work and would recommend to anyone looking for a task management tool. After trying a ton of different tools this was by far the easiest to use with the most meaningful features (with the best support). I've used Todoist for over 2 years now and can not recommend this app enough. They deploy updates more often than I've seen most apps move in the space and are constantly making great improvements.

Like a lot of other reviewer’s I have used many many To Do Apps. They all seem to have some problem - too complex, not complex enough, not flexible, no subtasks, ugly, there just always was something. But Todoist is different. Intuitive, mult-platform, just works like I wish all those others apps should have. 5stars. Even the subscription fee is fair, Bravo!
  • Great app, just one issue

    By mbx777
I’ve been using Todoist extensively now for about half a year, and generally I’m very happy with the impact it had on helping me tame the chaos and boost productivity. The only issue I have (and the reason to give only four stars) is its handling of time zones. The current functionality is absolutely minimal. There is neither an option to make an entry for a specific time zone nor any indication in existing entries if it was created using fixed or floating date/time entries. Nowadays it shouldn’t be a big deal to get this problem addressed. I’d consider it standard for any time-sensitive app.

  • Best app to track your to-dos! One suggestion...

    4
    By matkkcmo
Love this app for keeping track of my to-dos. Projects help me keep business apart from personal and the reminders are great! The Mac desktop app and FireFox plugin make it all come together so easily; you can add or compete a task from anywhere! One suggestion: Apple watch integration. Have your to-dos that are scheduled for that day show on the Siri watch face, just like Apples native Reminders app does. Do this and it’ll be perfect.

Love this app. Does everything I need. Would be awesome if there were an over arching view for all projects and dates...like a Gantt chart, but the calendar integration is a nice compromise.
  • So close to perfect

    By KSwiss1108
I really love this app and think it’s the best task management app out there. The only thing I would change, that would make it perfect for me, is having a regular text editor in the notes/comments. I use outlines for a lot of my notes and so far I haven’t found a way to indent text in the task or project comments. If that feature was added I would rate 5 stars.

  • Pretty Good Productivity App

    By on jahseph
Todoist has some quirks in the interface and not as good of a dark interface as I expected, but the app does help me get things done. The automatic emails in the morning are good, and the points give a little subliminal incentive to get things done. A downside is that many features are subscription only, but 2.99/month is not bad if you get everything done that you want to get done. I have heard of linking it with google calendar; I hope it works well.
  • Beautifully layed out

I love the UI, it’s a lot better than Things3. I just wish todoist had a meter for project completeness like Things3.

Been using Todoist for years online and recently installed the app. Everything is silky smooth... very easy to dump tasks into ... and organizing the day from phone while having coffee is very convenient.
  • Game changer

I’m really enjoying getting organized with Todoist. Feels good to have a place to put all my to dos - the ones I’m acutely aware of and the ones I forget about, are not urgent but need attention eventually or just might make life fun if I can get to them. I love the projects and subprojects feature.
  • I love this app

Every morning I forget to do important stuff. With this app u can always come to it in the morning or whenever to see what stuff u need to do. I also suggest getting premium since it has many other features.

I’m using the free version, but as soon as I start classes in the Fall, I will be upgrading to the Business plan. I want to experience all this app has to offer and tap into the features that will keep my life as a student organized. I especially want to share task lists with my husband since we will both be taking the same classes. For now, very much enjoying the free version.
  • Thanks for good patch notes!

Pretty sick of every app just writing a joke about squishing bugs and not documenting actual changes, so I’m grateful you actually keep us posted! Thanks!!
