  • No better than Apple Numbers

You cannot open 365 in the browser. The App does not have a full functionality and is missing critical features required for anything serious. Considering an iPad is as powerful as any laptop this is just a software problem.

I have Excel at home and work but can not use my copy in OneDrive without Office 365. Microsoft lied about having access to my files on the phone and iPad. Shame on Microsoft!!!

Should allow auto syncing that mirros Apple Numbers for iPhone. So two users can update docs simultaneously without having to make new versions.

This will mess up your hotmail email client and force you to use the app Really annoying that they force you to redo the way you get your email so they can send you advertising, and of course, they don’t warn you about it, portrayed as an improvement

It is so nice to be able to pull up an Excel document out of the office from Teams and review, edit and comment on it! Thanks Microsoft developers.

3/15/19 Issue with currently open file not staying open for very long appears to be resolved, finally, after many months and updates, thankfully. So great to have this working again. 👍👍👍👍👍 1/15/19 FIFTH update in a row that hasn’t resolved the issue of the current file not staying open for very long and needing to be downloaded and reopened over and over again each time Excel is brought to the foreground after a short while, which several others reviews have mentioned. Sooo disappointing... but I haven’t found a good enough iOS alternative to replace this. Yet. I just wish I could downgrade to the version just before this issue appeared.

Just gets stuck while opening from Onedrive. We have Office365 for business. Worthless.
  • It’s really ok, not bad at all.

For the most part I enjoy Excel. I’ve been using it for more than 20 years. Nowadays most commonly used features from what it has to offer are available online at no charge with a better overall experience. So, I think it’s just OK.
  • Why can’t I selectively format text within a cell?

    3
    By y-burn
I don’t use excel the way it’s likely intended for most users, but for my purposes, the inability to selectively format text within a cell is infuriating. That seems like a very basic feature. However, the additional cell boundary options compared to Numbers are nice.

  • Microsoft Claims Not True

    2
    By Ftjmb76
Their ads and tag lines state that you can unlock the full potential of Excel across all your devices. Truth is however the Mac versions lack so many features of the PC world: no power pivot, power query, power maps, data model, user forms and much more. Come on Microsoft we pay the same price as PC users for far less functionality.

It works, but a bit clumsy to navigate. And the file closes every time I go to a different app. The auto save keeps most everything , but not really user friendly.
  • It works for the most part

I started using this app a few years ago and use the paid version and have not EVER been able to save the file in drive or share with app or outlook or any means to move the file to a physical hard drive rather than the just on my device that made the spreadsheet. Needs some work..
  • No Good If I Can’t Use It

I was previously using this app for my .xlsx files on my iPad that are stored on Google Drive. Suddenly I can no longer access the files. I can see them but they are not in a format that is recognized by Excel and I am being forced to move them to One Drive if I want to use my iPad. I’m pretty frustrated as I use my iPad more than I use my Mac and I’m disappointed that [it appears] that Microsoft is forcing me to their cloud storage. Since I’m all Apple at home I guess I will be forced to find another way to manage my documents that doesn’t include a subscriptions to the Office suite. Thanks, Microsoft, for saving me a few dollars.

As a casual user this is way too expensive when compared to google sheets being free... it’s also not a great app only reason to use is compatibility with others.

Hello All— For the most part, I love everything about excel. I work with a very large corporation and using excel and online documents is the wave of the future. My company provides iPads to all of their outside and Inhome Reps and a lot of the uses (ie.Form Controls & ‘in-Document’ links) are just not supported. We have to reprogram everything and it’s very frustrating. This Leaves us looking for other applications to use. Please Microsoft... add these features to the iOS systems. This would make our lives so much easier. If this can be fixed for iOS (as it is with MacBook) I would give a 10 ⭐️ rating!!!
  • Last update messed up using Apple Pencil

    3
    By MrGuitar97
I use an Apple Pencil to navigate in Excel on my iPad. In the settings for Excel on the iPad you have to set the pencil to not draw. It worked perfectly until the last update for Excel, now the pencil navigates when I first open a spreadsheet but if I change tabs it goes into draw mode. I work with a lot of multi-page spreadsheets and it is driving me crazy. Hopefully Microsoft will see this and fix it.

If you close the app and haven’t saved or app deletes, it’ll delete your work. I’ve remade the same spreadsheet 3x because the app is garbage

Going from my laptop to going to my iPhone has made my life easier. I’m not spending all night creating spreadsheets and inputting info, I’m doing it as the day goes on from my mobile device.

  • It’s not worth the cost

I only need a spreadsheet periodically, so $84 dollars a year for every year until I remember to uninstall it is not worth the expense. Especially considering there are other application that provide similar features.

I am already an Office 365 subscriber. This app wants me to subscribe again. Not worth it. Apple’s alternatives are better.

Why, every time Microsoft Office apps are updated, is the download 200-300 MB? Has Microsoft not heard of delta updates? Otherwise, good app!
