  • Entertaining but overpriced

    By Alex Shpenev
It’s an interesting app but so not worth how much they charge. Pros: - really entertaining lessons, - it gets to a pretty advanced level - it adapts to your level Cons: - limited content - no teaching. It’s more for review with occasional “here’s a new word”. - not for true beginners - it costs too much for a max of 4 hours a month of content. It’s basically $20 an hour at this point unless you commit for a really long time. Some tutors are only marginally more expensive.
  • It’s about the best I’ve seen

    By Pocket Rebel
The lessons are solid, and I was truly learning. My French is somewhere in the middle. I’m not bad, but I’m not great. Certainly not fluent, but not hopeless. This app was challenging without being far too advanced. And it didn’t give me too much in the other direction — stuff so easy it would make me roll my eyes. The price is too much for me, so I can’t continue, unfortunately. Maybe if they have a special sometime, I’ll give it a shot, but it’s just too high at the moment.
  • Well worth it, for those serious about learning French!

    By Hokie Hi
The price I paid is well worth the value I receive each morning’s lesson. I love the humor and how quickly the lessons and courses get customized to me, my ever progressing levels, and interests. I am a university student getting my degree in French, and this complements my university classes so well. Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into your app and website. I’m here for as long as the lessons keep coming!
  • Outstanding App- Fun and Innovative

    By LColunga
I was on the fence about signing up for the 6 month subscription, the financial aspect another reviewer mentioned really made me consider whether the app was worth it. After about a month of use, I am nothing but thrilled with with Frantastique. I have tried just about every app out there and haven’t really thrived with getting my rusty French back up to fluency after years of neglect. While every other app is soooo linear, Frantastique tested me on concepts from simple to advanced to help fill gaps in my knowledge. No lesson is ever the same, the verbs and vocabulary are real (not the same generic list), and I love the ‘spicy mode’. Learning to say vomit three different ways was priceless:) Having an email sent to me everyday ensures I don’t forget my lesson, and the lessons are so entertaining I always look forward to logging in to start. I highly recommend this program, it’s the best French app I have come across!
  • Not always clear what to do

    By petmyrhino
The lessons so far are funny and charming but every single one of them has had a problem in how it is presented so that even if I know the correct answer I have entered it incorrectly. It’s usually a matter of putting the right answer on the wrong line. This makes any kind of assessment a bit absurd, and also makes the whole thing seem all the more frustratingly French.
  • Best app to improve French

    By fittiger
I've tried many apps/methods to learn and improve my French.... Rosetta Stone, Duolingo, Pimsleur, podcasts, etc. I've found this to be the best to teach grammar and practical usage of modern French. My only complaint is I wish it had more listening comprehension.
  • Great app, very happy

    By Aaron in DC
This is definitely worthwhile and I love the short daily format. I’ve been very satisfied and have been using the app for a couple years now.

This app is lots of fun
  • Makes learning French fun.

    By kahuna99
The lessons are short, fun and engaging. The variety of materials taken from French pop culture keeps my interest and makes each lesson practical instead of overly pedantic. Corrections come back right away with specific comments on my responses. I always look forward to the next lesson. Best language learning system I have found so far. Bravo!

  • Forget to update expired credit card, get legal threats

    By user54321234567
Got back from overseas to find nasty email with legal threats because I need to update my payment method. What kind of company does this?
  • J’adore Frantastique

    By Trixi tx
Love the lessons. Very cute, but effective. The reviews of mistakes are great, unfortunately I occasionally make the same mistakes again. My bad.
  • Great App!

    By Robbiebaby107
I have been using this app for about two months now and it is fantastic!! I started with a one month trial and bought a year’s subscription. I have a tutor twice a week for conversational French and grammar and this app is a great compliment to those sessions. If you are looking for an all-inclusive app — to include speaking skills, this is not the one, but it is perfect for me.
  • Love it!

    By SusanaAlicia
This app is a great review for my weak French. It is short and interesting and includes a number of grammar points presented in an interesting way. I love starting each lesson with a review of errors that I made in the past. When my lesson is corrected, I always receive feedback as to why it is wrong. Great feedback!
  • About the price...

    By Pomx2
The app looks promising and obviously a lot of thoughts are put into developing it. Unfortunately I can’t afford to have $350 taken out of my bank account every year for an app 😣 While I understand it takes a lot of effort to maintain an app like this, there are alternatives (or a combination of apps that would be much more cost-effective). At least if it’s a reasonable one-time payment then I would reconsider. Some people even hesitate on Netflix’ subscriptions which cost about $10-$15/month and people LOVE binging their films. Personally for $350 I’d buy exercise books on which I can physically practice my writing or take local classes to work on my speaking skills. I’m not complaining just for the sake of it or throwing a tantrum about the app not being “free” (some folks seriously do that 😂). I just want to offer an explanation on why some people including myself didn’t choose to subscribe after the 7-day trial. I’m sure there are folks can afford to. I know it might be a little disheartening to hear this as an developer but it’s nothing personal, just one take on the customers’ side. Please don’t take it to heart. Best of luck with your endeavors ☺️
  • Fantastique Frantastique!

    By stinkykristen
I LOVE THIS APP! Best French learning app ever... I use it every day and my French is finally improving after years of feeling stagnant with little to no learning. It's amazing!
  • Love Frantastique!

    By Yms7733
I really enjoy learning French with Frantastique. They make it interesting and fun to learn. The program is easy to follow and the progress reports are certainly encouraging.
  • Fun way to learn French

    By 3Yaru
Very fun and engaging app with solid grammar and vocabulary instruction. Works best as a supplement for other, more comprehensive classes or programs. I look forward to using Frantastique every day!
  • J'adore frantastique !

    By fab892
This app is perfect for quick and effective lessons. Various topics. I love it.
  • engaging, instructive and FUN

    By JDGuate
I've been self learning French for months, and this is the first app with which I finally start to understand the language AND the culture. I see the content and structure much more geared towards adult learning style, where understanding the reasons really helps the learning process. Another great plus is the fact that, unlike other apps out there, this one varies the methodology between lessons, so MUCH better work done avoiding monotonous learning!
  • Excellent way to review & expand French knowledge

    By JaneTennison
The 7 free trial lessons give a good taste of what to expect with the paid subscription. The lessons are witty and engaging, with lots of listening practice, plus vocabulary and conjugation drills. I love the entertaining and informative film and audio clips at the end of each lesson. I also love getting corrections right after I finish a lesson--with an in-depth explanation of each of my responses, whether right or wrong. I took the plunge and signed up for a whole year. Not cheap, but well worth the money. Duolingo (which I use to warm up) is flat and sterile in comparison.
  • So fun and engaging!

    By audracon
I enjoy learning from Frantastique so much! The review is thorough and the content is engaging! I highly recommend!
  • Great way to learn French

    By Abdulxyz
The content, structure and storyline make for a great way to learn French. I've used the app for only a few days now but already see how useful it is. Unlike most apps where you are repeating things to remember in memory, Frantastique puts things in context to make the words stick. Bravo to the Frantastique team!
  • I love this app

    By courtneko
This has been a great way to make sure I practice French daily. The material is really funny and keeps my interest, and I really like that it has adapted to my skill level. It keeps track of vocabulary you have flagged for practice and you can review past lessons. I'd definitely recommend it for anyone learning French, but especially those trying to learn or improve on their own.

Since i started using Frantastique a month ago, my french has improved a lot. The daily lessons really help me to keep me sharp and to remind me of the things i need to work on. The content is great and the corrections even better. The storyline of te lessons are the funniest. You will love the content. This app is worth every penny. I definitely recommend it.
  • Fun way to improve your French

    By VBpumpkin
I use DuoLingo, Rosetta Stone, and I have a French teacher, but I find that Frantastique is a very fun way to compliment all of these. Because they use stories and scenarios, it's easier to remember new vocabulary. And the stories are so funny, I'm often talking about them to friends and showing the videos (eg, Victor Hugo, visiting his own museum)
  • Very well structured

    By Vagabond0449
I've been using the app for several months now and find that the pacing is just right for me. It is definitely improving my comprehension of both oral and written French plus grammar and vocabulary. I recommend it highly.
  • Love!

I am looking forward every day to my 10 minutes French lessons with Frantastique: it's fun, it's clever and very French! I believe the app went through a lot of upgrades since it came out. Give it a try, you will not regret it either!

    love it,easy to use!
  • Easy to use, funny, good for reviewing

    By Skipugh
10-20 minutes a day. I love the lessons. No problems using the app. Great for review. With The help of this app I have moved from a 4.1 (B1-B2 to a 5.4, (C1-C2). The lessons are 5 days a week. You have access to all the grammar and vocabulary you have learned. Strongly recommend this App. The lessons are fun and frequently hilarious. I've learned a lot of some subtle French grammar that I would not have understood on my own. They keep updating the app so it stays fresh
  • Great App and Service

    By J. Budzinski
I have been using Frantastique for over a year and think it is well worth the cost of the subscription. The lessons are short but engaging. The app is well crafted and frequently improved. And you can definitely advance your level of French proficiency especially when combined with other tools. One area I would love to see improve is oral comprehension. The audio segments are a little too brief. Be aware also that the app has no features for verbal training. For that, you need French-speaking friends or a French teacher.
  • Fantastic!

    By asianmargarita
It's most certainly an entertaining and effective way to learn French. Highly recommend trying this if you're looking for a new way to learn French.
  • Great App

    By CataFTW
10 mins of French per day keeps you up to date on your basic knowledge, reminds you of grammar, vocabulary, and written comprehension.
  • Educational and Fun

Great way to learn a little every day!
  • World's better than Babel or Duolingo!

    By taylithic
I speak English and have made attempts to learn French over the past three years, of all the programs and apps I've tried, this one is the best. It is comprehensive and surprisingly funny! The instructions for each lesson are in French by default, which is helpful for recognition of the words you're learning, but can be switched to English for further comprehension. It uses various techniques for learning that suit all different strengths, visual, kinesthetic, auditory etc.
  • Week 2 and it's great!

    By W1ley
Very amusing and it seems to be homing in on my weaknesses. Update : 200 leçons in and I enjoy it more than ever. It has also introduced me to some very enjoyable cultural activities. I am thinking of singer/songwriter Camille and her album Le fil, among others. It is consistent, witty, and sometimes downright funny.

This application is fun and you learn quickly. Starting in January 2016, I was assessed at a 3.3 level and within ~ 9 months, I am now ranked as a 3.9, which is pretty good progress considering that I am 68 and studied French in high school. I have found that my comprehension of verbal French has improved on other applications such as Yabla. I would definitely recommend this as an effective learning tool....
  • Very well done and lots of fun

    By W1ley
I studied French many, many years ago. This is a great way to pick up where I left off. It seems to have assessed my proficiency pretty well. The lessons are interesting because they focus on the frontier of my knowledge. More importantly, the lessons are smart, witty and entertaining. After six months using the app I can say that I like it more than ever. It is always interesting and fun. I love it. New: After 170 lessons, it just gets funnier, harder, and more entertaining.
  • Awesome

    By franklin.lindemberg
Very good app. It eases learning french because has daily lessons. The only problem I see is when we don't do the lesson of the day, it doesn't unlock the new lessons and we lose a day.
  • Exelente !!

  • Good But it can improve!

    By AVmilano
It's a good app, but the lessons should be more realistic according to daily situations !
  • Very good and useful tank you

    By Sheri 74
    I really surprised
  • Maybe it's just me

    By Lainiebot
But I could not understand these lessons. The layout, the prompts, the test format---all of it seemed confusing to me. The flow of the pages is extremely wonky and it's visually annoying because it's hard to decipher a question from a non question. Then when you go to close a lesson it says you have unanswered questions. Yeah? We'll make the questions more clear then. I really wanted to like this because I'm really wanting to strengthen my French but this app failed me.
  • Wonderful!!!

A great review and great new material in an easy, friendly learning environment. I love it!
