  • So good, with one downfall...

    By HeresMyTwoCents
I love Fantastical and bought it for my Mac, iPhone and iPad. It is a beautifully designed app that is a pleasure to use. Well almost. I was shocked to see an app this advanced and so skillfully put together STILL using the old-fashioned DATE SPINNERS for their date picker! These things are SO ANNOYING to mess with, and they provide absolutely NO VISUAL LAYOUT of the month. Just today, before leaving the optometrist’s office, they needed to schedule my next appointment for exactly one month away, so the receptionist asked if the 2nd Thursday in February would work for me. Well, that’s IMPOSSIBLE to answer when using date spinners, because you can’t SEE where a specific day like that falls within the month! Why won’t a great design team like the one who created Fantastical give us a nice scrolling month view instead? Those are a million times easier to use, PLUS they provide an instant visual snapshot of upcoming months. They let you immediately “see” where the “second Thursday in February” is in relation to all your other events. The date spinners provide none of that. Not sure why the fine people at Fantastical are still holding out on this, but man oh man, I’d love to see a sliding month view sometime soon!
  • Phone/watch complication!?

    By Tahoe775
Make the iPhone app and Apple Watch complications display the date you monkeys! (Otherwise amazing.) why does the free calendar perform the most important calendar function (effortless date display-no touching needed) and this fancy one doesn’t!?!? You want me to waste a second watch complication just so I can see the date?
  • Lags in features

    By letol
Jan 16, 2019. A beautiful GUI, but wish Fantastical kept pace with features like driving time, and also wish they had better support for multiple time zones for Google Calendar.
  • Stopped Syncing

    By Kaps_
Worked fine for over a year and now it doesn’t sync with my calendars. No way to request support! I deleted the app and added back with the same issue.
  • Using Siri on the standard calendar is easier and cheaprr

    By HeyyyBarKeep
I downloaded this app and can’t make heads or tails of it. I just merely freaking want an easy to use calendar that can send me a reminder and not lose the apptmt. I tried to manually input a dental appointment and add an address and phone number. Dear Baby Jesus. What a rigamorole. Just say “Siri add dentist appointment to Wed at 8:30AM.” I think Siri forgets them, but it’s a better chance than this app. Not intuitive at all. Don’t even ask the right questions. Big disappointment. Nobody makes a good calendar.
  • XS Max (iOS 12.x)

I wish the control center widget showed alarms (when set) like Apple’s "up next" widget, but Apple will not allow the devs to implement such a feature. It would also be nice to choose the number of days ahead of an event users would like to see it appear in the widget (eg, one, two, three, seven, etc.). Perhaps the option to choose between the current behavior as default behavior and an option to “always show next event” would be sufficient. The ability to customize is what has made this app indispensable through the years. Users want a true dark mode (instead of the two-toned option currently available), optional "week" and "month" views (ie, full-screen as opposed to the current split-screen month or turn-to-view week views), and the option to display their preferred view in either portrait or landscape mode. Thanks for continuing to support this app, devs!
  • Good but not quite great

    By topherMario33
Just started using this app on my MacBook and it is amazing there. I thought it would be the same on my phone but I was disappointed. I love calendar apps that let me just show a plain week view (Tiny Calendar). This app needs more view options. Also I was disappointed I could not just add an account through the settings in the app. I do not want to add it to my phone accounts but keep them separate. Why are we able to do this on the Mac app but not the iOS app?
  • Awesome, I use it everyday.

    By HDWADE2
Whenever I get on my phone, if not for messages or calls, it’s this app. I would like if there was a separate widget for reminders (to-do’s) though, that’s usually the reason I have to open it so much.
  • This is almost the perfect app.

    By Sir Humphrey Appleby
The only thing I’d change about this app is to display the reminders in their time slots in the calendar view. If not in the day ticker or portrait calendar then at least in the landscape view
  • Why it shows French instruction and settings only?

    By Charlie X.
After I downloaded, it shows only French. I don’t know why... my iPhone system setting is simplified Chinese, and I don’t understand French.
  • Poor and way overrated

    By drjwr
This app needs a major revamping towards an intuitive UE: There is no monthly calendar as such, which means you can't see groups or patterns of exact entries: e.g., see Calendars 5 or also, on the iPhone, the Google calendar for what an intuitive monthly view should look like; bars on the weekly view are useless -- what do they helpfully communicate? Empty days don't show in the list, adding to the confusion. It's an app that fails at being quick and intuitive. The native iOS app, which also lacks a real monthly view and merely has a dot/agenda view, is light years better. Calendar is way overrated. (But it does have a good widget.) Save your money.
  • Almost ... keep going

    By Minidvdv
Very few cals integrate iOS reminders into the view. Why have a day plan that doesn’t show the tasks is beyond me yet so many fail there. Yours is very nice at that. Useful tool indeed and easy on the eyes. Month view- a detailed view with text visual event on the date itself and not in a list below the month layout would be fantastic! Keep it going and a super app!
  • It’s not working right

    By ToxieClot
I cannot add reminders or events on my Apple Watch. If they fixed that... it would be awesome!!! Then it would be 5 stars.
  • Almost excellent

    By Ano-nym-ous
I have used pretty much every calendar app over the years, and Fantastical is currently the one installed on all of my iDevices. The biggest advantages: - It opens very fast, even on the older 6s - It has the best natural language event entry, and the whole event adding experience is designed for the maximum speed and ease of use - It is very reliable - A very good Watch complication There’s a few features I’d love to see, but only two things that I consider negatives: - No way to distinguish between Accepted events, and Tentative / Unanswered ones. For people with busy schedules and many meeting invites during the week, it’s a must have. - No support for Apple Calendar attachments, even though many other 3rd party calendars do have it. I’d give it five stars if these two issues were resolved.

I purchased and like both the apps for iPad and iPhone. The only issue I have is that they freeze often and it is difficult to click on the little directions button to bring up the map instead of having it go into edit mode. Otherwise, very nice app.
  • Love it but...

    By aldnehwr
This app is the best calendar app. Period. That being said, there are a couple features that I would like to see added. 1. The ability to see all the events of a single calendar with one tap. This is kind of like how we can already see all reminders for a certain lost, but instead it's for calendar events. For example, I have a celndar for all of my Exam dates, and I would love to be able to see ONLY those events with one tap. Perhaps a left swipe would be a good place to put this feature? 2. A day view would be great in order to visualize the gap between events. I know there is a week view is landscape mode but I'm talking about a similar view but on a day by day basis. Perhaps if we double tap on a date in the week ticket or the month view it will change the event layout into a Day View. 3. An area where people can see all of their invitations. I don't know if you have this feature or not, but I have never seen it. 4. Reminders should be displayed along side events in the week view.
  • Not intuitive

    By castiels
Why can’t I directly add reminders for specific days? I add a reminder that automatically goes to the current day, even if another was selected, then I have to manually change it.
  • Busy schedule. Latest iPhones and updates. Crashes and doesn’t work

    By asher47
I really want to use the app. I really want to have a better calendar. And I really want my money back - as Fantastical 2 doesn’t seem to work.
  • The Best Calendar App

    By dawnandbiscuits
When I switched from Android to iPhone this was the only app that efficiently handled Google calendar syncing in a satisfactory way. Since then I’ve been pleased with the fast and intuitive interface. I’ve recommended it to all my friends on iOS.
  • Reliable

    By chesbeau
At first I found this a little less intuitive and more burdensome than other similar calendars. I’m now fully retired and have found more time to finally unwind. This app’s design and layout at once I initially thought were hard to learn are now in fact user friendly. For the fewer dates/appointments I currently have to account for, this is indeed a pretty nice calendar.
  • Not worth the hype

    By Villalobos.Jesus
I’m completely dumbfounded as to why people praise this calendar. I’ve been using fantastical for about 4 months now and found it’s pretty inefficient. I’ve used and bought so many other calendars and between iOS and Google Cal I’ve settled on the fact that people just want to own something expensive. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a decent calendar and it gets the job done, but to charge for the iPhone version, the iPad version and then the MacOS version is highway robbery.
  • Overwhelmed

    By TheLizzyBath
In a few minutes I tried to navigate this app, it was super confusing and hard to process. I don’t love the set up, and honestly wish I hadn’t paid for this just to be let down.
  • Disappointed with Month View

    By Why another nickname?
It seems like a decent calendar app but I dislike the fact that in month view, it only shows a dot on days with events. I need to be able to see that actual events. Google Calendar has this. I usually only have a couple events per day, one of which is my work shift. I like to look at the month and see what I’m working each day since I work swing shifts and every week is different, and sometimes different shifts in the same week. I hate having to scroll through the weeks to see my events. Why can’t I have a month view on my phone like on the Mac? The app also doesn’t import contact names correctly for birthdays. I get, “Smith John’s birthday,” instead of either “John Smith’s Birthday,” or just, “Smith, John - birthday.”
  • Searches past events!

    By Imatigerluvr
FINALLY found a calendar app that I can search past events! All the other features are awesome! 😊
  • Great, but getting stale

    By Colin Robertson
I love Fantastical and it’s been one of my mainstay apps for years now. That being said, version 2 is getting a little long in the tooth. It’s gotten many minor updates but I’d love to see some more significant things addressed in the app. Top of my list would be a month view on iPad where you can see events on it and not just dots. Second would be combining duplicate events on iOS—it’s been in the Mac version but why is it taking so long to appear in iOS? I share events with my wife all the time and like to see her calendar on mine, but it gets messy when there’s duplicate events all the time. Anyways, I can’t wait to see what Flexibits has been up to for version 3!
  • Very Good, but Exchange support has gaps

    By Aakusin
I really like this app. Makes calendar review and event addition so much more easier than the native iOS app. Says it supports Exchange calendars, but it doesn’t allow adding invitees from the company Exchange server (which he native iOS app does, so that kind of limits the usefulness for me...). Hope they add that soon. Then it’ll replace the Calendar app on my dock!
  • Best Calendar App!

    By Mi1lion
Fantastical is truly the best Calendar App. The ease of use, flexibility, and human language input makes my life so much easier.
  • Monthly view

    By seawarrior10
Uses less than half the screen. So small that it’s difficult to distinguish the colors for the various events . If there was a way to have the monthly view take up 2/3 of the screen (remaining portrait) I would continue to use. But at present the Apple calendar provides a clearer view.
  • Can’t add calendar event on Apple Watch

    By samsonite17
Paid 2.99 for this app and for some reason when I long press on the Apple Watch app, after the add button comes up, it just freezes and the app crashes.
  • Amazing, but...

    By oakleys47
First of all, I love this app. The sale made me finally hop off of the fence and buy on both macOS and iOS. I love the macOS version, and this version is just as good, with one exception. The macOS version has an icon that changes based on the date, whereas the iOS does not. I would really like to see this feature implemented, if possible. Every other feature present is wonderful and much more intuitive and useful than the stock Calendar app. Wonderful job to the dev team!
  • Quick Dictation Needed

    By Drybonz99
I bought this app specifically for the dictation features. Overall, it seems pretty good but could really use an option to go directly into “dictation mode” when clicking the “plus” button to add a new event/reminder... or another button to go directly to dictation (bypassing the keyboard). The app icon could also use an update. The current one is looking a bit iOS 3-ish. This is a minor cosmetic thing, though. Otherwise app seems good. I was a bit disappointed that I would have to buy a separate version to have full iPad support. I should add that I think the widget is quite nice. I would like the option to change the event “dots” to a more visible color.
  • Does not do the 2 things I wanted, can’t contact support

    By usless app23
I got this app so I could access shared calendars on my Apple Watch. It doesn’t work with my watch and I can’t see shared calendars on it. I also can’t contact customer support to request a refund. Don’t buy this!

  • Apple Watch app crashes at launch on 2.10

    By Savvy Engineer
Fixed. Upgrading to 5 star. ————- Worked fine until last upgrade. Watch app now crashes at launch on WatchOS4 with original Apple Watch. iOS12 on iPhone 7.
  • Reinstall in Apple Watch fixed issue

    By jeo0713
Back to 5 stars now. It is great!!
  • Simply awesome

    By tps42
The fact that it handles both events AND reminders is awesome. The widget is the best widget in the app store, period. Fantastical is easy to use, it's robust, powerful, and glitch free. My only request is a COMPLETE dark mode. I've been waiting. Please, just give us the dark mode on the calendar itself. 🤞
  • Different than desktop app

    By likebliss
All I want is for scheduled reminders to be shown in the landscape calendar view (the way it is on desktop). It’s such a simple feature... Why won’t you guys add this? Update: thank you for the response, but “enable reminders” has already been on. I just want them to show up on the landscape/calendar view. Reminders only show up in the list view. See the last screenshot you have posted for the app. It’s a landscape screenshot. The one reminder you have in list view (pick up dry cleaning) does not appear in the calendar. Why??
  • Major synching issues with Apple Watch

    By BenReviewer
I bought this app primarily because if was being advertised as a great app for the Apple Watch. I am finding that it is no better then the standard Calendar app on the watch (actually worse), plus lacks the ability to show a month view, and/or let you scroll around the calendar. It is only a three day view out. The most frustrating thing is that I need to reset my synching every morning to get the app to show my calendar. Needless to say I just wasted $3 and am back to using the standard Calendar app on my watch.
  • Tasks integrates with calendar

    By Will-Bachata dancer
I love that I can see my calendar event times and task times integrated. I see appointments and when to do a task together... ebony and ivory live together in perfect harmony.
  • Awesome app!

    By ModBeo
I really love this app! It communicates with all my calendars and updates in real time. I recommend it to anyone who needs a good planning app.
  • Great calendar app but...

    By TKmiami
I’ve been using this app for over a year and its one of the best calendar apps. My issue is that when your in calendar view and scrolling through events with your finger, very often it will inadvertently “grab and drag” an event and move it. No way to undo that mistake.
  • Flawed

    By Dost2626
I really want to like this app, but it freezes every time I try to create an event on the Watch app. The ability to create events on the watch app was the only reason I bought the app, I hope this issue is addressed in a bug fix soon.
  • Keeps me Sane

    By Imlosingit
Love how this app is easy to use, intuitive and well organized. I’ve used this app for years and it is amazing. I tried many, many apps before that didn’t make the cut. You’ll love this app, too!
  • Outlook categories please

    By Aardvar11
    Outlook categories please
  • Great but minor issue

    By APTechnician
I use iCloud for personal calendars and Outlook for work. I needed a way to combine the two in an easy to view to fashion. This has been that solution. It’s been amazingly helpful to be able to look at everything in one app so I don’t overbook myself. The issue that I’ve found is that the Apple Watch portion doesn’t display the correct number of events. Everything from outlook seems to double up so it tells me I have twice as many events as I really do and can be hard to know how busy my day actually is.
  • Helps me TimeBox

    By MikeMcMillanONE
Fantastical enables me to TimeBox on my iPhone and my Mac while easily differentiating between appointments and reminders. Excellent calendar-reminder integration and UI.
  • Love it

    By Jaftroy
Use this as a complication everyday
