you can’t do much with the base app, but pro is only $20 a year so its worth it if you’re into cars
  • It is Crappy

It was difficult to download any of the apps listed ... I kept getting errors or incompatible. Not only that, it did not wipe out the codes to turn off check engine light. NOT A FAN!!
  • Yearly Subscription

Hate the yearly/monthly subscription on the apps these day. I am not using for commercial. I may be using it 3-4 time a year. I’ll never pay for yearly subscription unless I them everyday.
  • Works great !! ( Apple car play support?)

The app will be complete if in the future support apple car play.
  • Rip Off

    By Ericbell2
I purchased the pro but it failed to upgrade. There is no contact and apples ignores complaints and makes it impossible to report being ripped off. So I am left screwed out of 19.99 for a year and an app that works the same as the free version.
  • **UPDATE** GARBAGE

I had this app for a few years now. Worked as expected then. Bought the upgraded version and everything. Well some time went by when I didn’t need to use it. Always kept app and iPhone updated. Now I need to use it again and it won’t connect to the app. Something happened where it won’t connect to my scanner. Very disappointing since I spent money to have it go to waste.
  • No BT Adapters? Why?

Won’t connect to a BT adapter. Somehow my track apps will. But not this diagnostic app. Makes no sense.

This app connects to my 7.3 power stroke better than FORScan lite which I paid for ,but I can’t tell if paid app can do injector buzz test . If I know that information, I would purchase paid version and change this to a five star review when The test works

I downloaded this because of some nice reviews and claims it can turn off the engine light. It forces you to subscribe/purchase the Pro version in orders to erase the code. I’m now using the free app inCarDoc, which can erase the codes and so much more.
  • Problem with the app

Hi there, I have the promotion app and it works great since I have it, but recently my I phone 6 s plus broken and I got another phone and it is the same I phone 6 S plus , and I tried too many times to connect the device to the app it didn’t connect at all.. any idea please. Thanks
  • Other apps do this for less

Good app but really.. a subscription model? Other applications on the AppStore for OBD units do the same for less money (or a one time fee). Spend your money wisely.
  • Only worth it if you upgrade to Pro for $$$

    By HendoHooligan
Installed the free version after the “check engine” light came on in my car. Easy installed & easily connected to the dongle via WiFi. Gives you some interesting but very, very basic data but if you actually want the app to be useful, you have to either start paying $5/month or $20/year (automatically renewed) for the “Pro” version. This basic version here doesn’t even detect the check engine light is on, let-alone tell you what the problem is. No thanks! I’d rather give my $$ to a business that’s nice enough to give you some honest useability in their free version.

I Purchased The pro version for iPad after the first six months into my subscription I no longer had the oscilloscope graft feature I contacted customer support many times they did not help me after I had exhausted all the technical solutions on their link for customer support I emailed again no replies I would say this app would be great if it continued to work correctly I would rate the as I did breaking it down for you below summary of the app O - customer service very poor 4 - App when it works correctly as described 5 - Price of the app you get what you pay for 2 - comparison to an actual professional app 1 - satisfied with the app not at all pro version

Downloaded for my Foseal OBD2...which I’m returning. This recommended free app is just about worthless, and appears just to just be a way to push the paid PRO version.

Go with an alternative that doesn't think they are selling gold. To the devs, go get a real job and cut this "get rich quick" scheme
  • $5 per month

If you want to clear a check engine light, you’ll need to upgrade to the premium version for $5 per month...the only thing I needed the app to do.

I bought this app to monitor MPG and a few other items, all of which are reading very inaccurate via this app.
  • Won't clear codes

I purchased the upgrade and after making a repair I couldn't clear the code to see if the repair worked. The app says the code is cleared but the check engine light never goes out. I am cancelling this app.

  • Better than a stand alone OBDII DTC reader

    By longhall
Ive used a lot of different OBDII scanners. From $30-$100 dollar devices. I still have several, the more expensive scanners come with their own expensive displays and cost in the hundreds of dollars. Why not use your already expensive iPad for your scanner display? Well this app makes it work. I’m getting far more information for diagnostics than a simple code reader/deletor costing three times as much. Just tried it out for the first time and immediately upgraded to the pro version. Only tried it out on one vehicle, Toyota Camry. Had to adjust a couple settings to get it to connect, once I did it seamlessly connects automatically now. I will have to wait and see how well it holds up but as of today I give it a big thumbs up.
  • Can’t connect

It used to work and now can’t connect I thought it was my adapter but found out it’s the app. Maybe the last update messed it up. I paid for the pro and now it’s useless

After I purchased Korea ELM-327, I had to downloaded a basic app. Everything worked fine between a device and iPhone via WiFi but it did not provided enough information on the screen, very little like 5% or less about air temperature in the engine and room temperature was all I had. Pretty expensive to buy a device and the basic app sucked! Not sure, do I really want to purchase $ 9.99 app? Why do I have to spend the money this and that things?
  • No Code Reset

    By burtsbee
Another wonderful update where features are removed. Thanks for taking a perfectly good app and making it worthless. Sure I can pay for the upgrade, but it the point. “Sorry Johnny that we are in the candy store..no candy for you”. In the future just don’t put the features in from the beginning.
  • Sorry, yes, OBD2 should detect airbag!

    1
    By PMR711
Thank you for your reply, in which you explain to me that „airbag has nothing to do with OBD2“. Now that explains me why your software doesn’t work - if you as the software developer don’t know that OBD2 is indeed the only existing interface for exactly this purpose and many other purposes and that is used by ALL professional car workshops to detect ANY error in the cars and to reset/erase ANY error code. As you don’t know that this is the case, no wonder that your software cannot know... For my purpose therefore complete waste of money and time!
  • Connection issues

    By apta
I tried these 4 apps: OBD Auto Doctor, iOBD2, OBD2 Expert, and Car Scanner. The adapter I used is a Kobra Wireless that uses WiFi to connect to an app. OBD Auto Doctor connected successfully once but then couldn't get it to do so again after half a dozen attempts. OBD2 Expert was a no-go from the start since it wanted several $s to even get to the connection window. iOBD2 did not connect successfully. The only thing the app shows is a little banner while attempting to connect and then shows Connection Failure. Only Car Scanner was able to connect everytime and provided LOTS (183 sensors) of useful information about the car and, importantly, for free. Although there are very unintrusive advertisements on the bottom of the screen, one can upgrade to the Pro version for a donation varying from $2.99 to 4.99 - your choice!
  • Not Satisfied At All

The description given of the “free app” is very misleading! I thought it would do much more than read codes. Also, the app did not connect the way the instructions said to, but I figured out how to get it connected. It is free, but they mislead you into expecting much more than a simple code reader. “Basic” won’t clear codes or show gauges as described! If they change the description I will be willing to rate them higher.

It’s great software but it’s a bit expensive. Especially when there are a lot cheaper options that will do just about the same thing.

No problem connecting with elm adapter. This app falls short in several ways. I have the upgraded version. I am updating this review to reflect my email corresponence with the developers of this app. My experience with them was quite positive. (1) The sensor data graphs stop taking data after 30 seconds and the trace is then slowly erased over the next 30 seconds, after which no more data is displayed. Update: This does not seem to be a common problem, nor has it been reported previously. I am using an ipad 3 running ios 9.1, so the issue may be due to this configuration specifically and in any case the developers were interested in addressing it. An ios issue is quite believable because I have experienced rendering issues in 9.x that were not present in earlier ios versions. For example, when zooming and panning on pdf files of schematics, lines disappear and get jumbled regardless of what app I use, which indicates an issue with ios 9.x in that instance. (2) It is impossible to overlap sensor data to make comparisons. Update: The developers informed me that this will be possible in the next update, so this issue is resolved. (3) The trouble code reset doesn't work properly. Update: This seems to also not have been previously reported, so again, it may be due to my ipad 3 and ios 9.1. The developers are looking into it. Overall, the developers seem to have taken my issues and suggestions seriously and I am looking forward to the update. I don't have any issues with the price and I would happily pay more for additional capabilities. I added a star to my rating based on my correspondence with the developers and will revise this again after checking out the next version.

Free version does next to nothing and constantly looses connection on GM and Ford, iOS 11.0.3 iPhone 7 and VEEPEAK Bluetooth. Why would I upgrade if free version keeps disconnecting?

I originally downloaded Dash Command and I could never get it to work with my iPhone 6 Plus. Then I downloaded Auto Doctor and it worked seamlessly. I’ll probably upgrade to the full version soon since it works so well as a diagnostic tool.

I use a elm437 wifi adapter and when connected to any car to clear codes the apps prompts you to upgrade for 14.99 for this specific feature and I did so and what do you know it did nothing. Don't waste your money it's fraud.

Compared to the other OBD apps, this reads most cars, even Audi ecu's. Wish the free version would clear codes but with the Pro, you can clear codes and monitor sensors.
  • A little misleading

    By Paul9464
Overall the app seems to work pretty well with my ELM327. Just be aware that if you want to reset a trouble code you need to pay for the advanced features. The description makes it sound like you can download it for free and reset the codes.
