Reviews

  • Poor contacts implementation

    2
    By Wjbell
The app UI is functional. I removed it because it couldn’t read my contacts. Instead, all of the docs I saw online suggest that Outlook wants to be the source of contacts pushing to iCloud. My contacts are already there and I just want this app to pull them. Not a one way push.
  • Won’t work consistently

It does not stay connected on iPhone XS. Other reviews also have issues. Support always suggests deleting them adding accounts back but then it happens again. Every month I have to reload the email settings as it stops syncing, bugs such as not being able to delete emails, having to setup imap account details and add signatures back etc. With four accounts, one in Outlook 365 and other three IMAP accounts this has gotten too much every month. My guess is it’s tied to the month billing through 365. I’m going back to using the Apple mail app to setup my IMAP accounts.

  • Awful awful awful

I never write reviews for apps, but this one is so unequivocally terrible, I feel compelled to vent. Not user friendly. Does not sync with other calendars. Keyboard constantly disappears. Just clunky & non-intuitive. The single worst application I have ever encountered. If you can find a way to avoid this disgusting app, your life will be immensely better for it.
  • Inconsistent

App only works 50% of time. Can’t open anything and everything freezes. When it does work, it’s fantastic... very irritating as I use it for work emails.
  • Delete and move to next message

A simple feature available on every other mail app including desktop outlook is ‘delete and move to next unread message’. This one feature makes it too cumbersome to be my primary mail app for iOS.
  • Calendar Widget Coming?

I’ve never had any issues withe app. Reliable, smooth, and quick. I would love to see a calendar widget for iOS14 soon though!

  • Spam, Phishing

They don’t do enough top toe to you from phishing. They put stuff in your account that is transparently dangerous. Waste of time reporting it.
  • Search feature brings it down

    3
    By TimaTurtle
The search feature is not good. It pulls up irrelevant results from ages ago quite frequently. Very annoying. Otherwise not so bad, though I wish it could be integrated into iOS better.
  • The Best

Outlook is the best mailbox I’ve ever used. It’s easy and straightforward and I can always find my mail! Try it... you’ll like it!
  • Nice integration w/O365...but the search function is bad (at best)

    2
    By rfess
The UI took some getting used to after being on iOS mail for so long, but now I’m mostly OK with it. And I can say it’s pretty good. The nicest thing is the integration with the O365 suite. That works well. How attachments show up also is well done. The Outlook calendar and how it is connected is much better than when part of the apple mail/calendar setup. And it’s easier to find out about people and their teams. But the search function is not good. It’s just bad actually. It doesn’t go back far enough...even when I know I have an email, the search won’t go to it. And that is incredibly frustrating. Also, the word replacement seems worse than when using apple mail. Maybe only a perception. *** UPDATED 23 Sep 2020*** Recently the app has started to include my own email address when selecting “reply to all.” That’s just another glitch since updating to the latest version of the app. Word replacement still is glitchy. And the search function still isn’t great.

All seems to work well, the only problem I can’t see the sent Folder unless on the PC
  • Couldn’t type at all

Basic function one would think it is for the keyboard to work, but apparently not Microsoft. I couldn’t get my iPad keyboard to work in Outlook. What a shame. MS doesn’t even know the bare minimum of software any more.
  • Lost all my settings

Congratulations on your latest update to outlook Microsoft. I had six email accounts and multiple calendars that will take me an hour or two to add and format back to the way I had it originally. I would think you would have solved that problem already. Update 09/23/20 The “Do not disturb” “Until Tomorrow” feature doesn’t work. It says it will turn off at 8am the next morning but it was still on when I checked at 3pm the next day.
  • Favorite email app but one thing is missing...

    By Kandisndjaixjdjsk
I absolutely love Outlook. It is so easy to use and helps keep me organized. However, I do wish that they would create a separate calendar app. Google has a separate email app and I think it would be smart for Microsoft to create one as well.
  • Constantly glitching and making errors!

    1
    By Worst! App! EVER!
I really only use this app for school, otherwise I wouldn’t ever use it! But it keeps glitching all the time! A lot of the time it refuses to send my email until almost 2 hours later! So I click “send”, then I assume it’s been sent. But then when I go to the sent box, it shows NO RECORD of it ever being sent! So I go to draft emails, and there’s no record there either! So then I just give up and send the email from my computer! Well when I come back to the app, it NOW remembers that there was an email and it sends it two hours later! So the other person now gets TWO of the same email! That is very frustrating! Also, whenever I refresh the app, it doesn’t show me the newest emails until much later! I know this, because I look at the time stamp of the email that someone sent to me, and it’ll show that it was sent to my inbox much earlier! So why can’t this app refresh right?! Why can’t this app work right?! I even updated it, and it’s still causing problem! Fix this app!

  • Widgets?

    By Curtiss cr1 ace
Love the app but it would be really nice to have the Home Screen widgets. Does anyone know when they will be released? Articles say they were to release with ios14 but that doesn’t seem to have happened.
  • Best email app ever for school

This is the best app I like it I use it all lot for school is the best app and I like the way is really easy to manage.😀😀🥳
  • Liked it but new version changed

    By Bajanspear
The integration with O365 is great. It was all working fine. Used it mire than any other email app. Someone updated the app to chain the emails, and now it’s very confusing or uncomfortable. Now you have to be super careful you’re responding to the right mail or deleting the correct mail. Several times I’ve realized the wrong action was taken and then I had to restore or take corrective actions. Now I’m using the PC Outlook more because the phone apps became convoluted. Hope it’s fixed soon.

I absolutely hate this app. It doesn’t give me all of my emails. Navigation is impossible. Doesn’t help me at all.

Outlook locked me out of my account for ”suspicious” activity coincidentally three days after I changed my phone number, so now my email is inaccessible and I can't unlock it :) thx for the wonderful service
  • Great app for work

    By appleExplorer
Great app but the only thing that broke after the iOS 14 update are previews to the notifications under the notifications. Before the notification showed the sender of the email and the subject line. Now it just says “New Message: Open Outlook to read your message.” This is shown even if the phone is unlocked. Any ideas?? App developers please reach out!

I’ve been using the native mail app on my iPhone for many years. After starting to use outlook I’m really enjoying it.
  • UPDATE - pastes every time

    2
    By Shap08
WHY DOES THIS PASTE FROM MY CLIPBOARD EVERY TIME I OPEN THE APP?!? Security flaw or privacy invasion. Update. I can’t count on this app to be able to search older emails from my gmail account. Constant issues with the search function. PLEASE add same promotion and social filters that gmail has. Can't live without those to clear my inbox anymore.

Using new 4.56.0 version but MS must have fixed something in the background last night (9.22.20) because read/unread status now working this morning and sub folder email now mostly receiving.
  • Better than Apple’s mail client

I like Outlook better than Apple’s default mail client. Outlook is better organized. Thanks Microsoft!
  • This Update is terrible

You can’t look at your folders like on your pc or search by folder. It’s so bad you can’t even view your sent folder.

Great app for school! Highly recommended.
  • Issues with sending links and files

    2
    By Starsail71
With the new update I am now unable to send a photo or link. I have to go straight to the app itself and attach the file.
  • Mail search feature fast and complete

Much better than Mail app that’s default
  • Stop rearranging the order of my messages!

    1
    By 123rrr34
For some reason the last couple of upgrades have rearranged threads so the newest is on the bottom vs top. If you are going to do this at least give us a choice of how we prefer it. Its available on your desktop client, and even the web version for O365.

    Love it!
  • App is always frozen

    1
    By VinnyM123
About half of the time, the app says “updating” and is frozen and unresponsive. You cannot check your calendar or email while it’s updating.
  • App is good... when it actually loads!

    By LauraP117
9 out of 10 times I can’t event login because the login screen won’t load. When it finally opens its good.
  • Horrible app

Can’t view emails more than a month ago. Searching for past emails is beyond useless. Overall terrible app.
  • Worst email app

    1
    By A_Broly
Every single time, EVERYTIME, you try to send an email, you’ll be prompted with an email to “Please sign in to your Outlook.com account”. Upon googling the issues, I’ve found it’s been a problem for years with this app. All these reviews on here are fake as heck. Not only can you not send an email without signing in every single time, but your signature will not show up on any emails you send out from this app. Your signature on emails will only show up if you send the email from your computer. Worst email app ever.
  • Great except no custom email signature

    4
    By John S Bhm
I love Outlook. The only thing I don’t care for is that I am not able to add a custom email signature on my iPhone, which knocks a star off for me.
  • Absolutely the best

I love outlook I can manage all of my emails and my calendar from the same app plus more it is extremely helpful I can access it from any of my computers or my phone it is the best
  • It’s a no for me

    1
    By kaylainator
This app use to work great but after this past month or so update messed things up for me. The app won’t send notifications anymore and it signs me out then won’t let me sign back it. It’s a shame because I loved using this app for important school information.
  • More glitches started again

    1
    By vcrtuoploiutre
The app doesn’t open until after the mail app sits and eventually I see what is in the inbox. The badge count doesn’t keep up with emails coming in. My contacts don’t appear after a update. It’s got to update for over a hour. It’s terrible
  • Updates

    By Alissa Paige
It’s cool you’re updating your app. But, why everyday? It seems like VERY VERY OFTEN I’m trying to do something and I have to wait 15 min for an update with to app just to open my email. Definitely making changes.
  • Replying to emails is still an issue

    1
    By Farscape1a
Now, 2 years later, when you click on the Reply text box to reply to an email, the email thread STILL scrolls all the way to the end! This was supposed to be fixed with iOS 13, and is STILL happening with iOS 14! C’mon already!
