Our trusted online privacy service creates several security layers which keep you anonymous and prevent access to your data. It’s time to change your WiFi habits. Don’t use WiFi without our secure VPN to proxy your internet traffic! WiFi Security. If you use WiFi hotspots without encryption, your data can be seen, blocked, throttled, censored, or otherwise changed. • Content Blocker. The Safari Content Blocker blocks ads, trackers, and malware while browsing with Safari. WHAT DO OUR CUSTOMERS THINK? “Firstly, the company is second to none in terms of support, troubleshooting, and individualized assistance. Their nodes and hubs are top speed. Their client is streamlined and has a tremendous ease of use.” JAYDLUV, 10/10/2017 “This is my go to app for VPN. Been using Windows version for years and the iPad version is great.” Pkcarreon, 09/18/2017 “No hiccups, no crashes or anything. It just works great. Bear in mind you have to subscribe to the service for this to work. I highly recommend it.” Scott Loflin, 09/15/2017 “Simple and solid. No issues even when traveling.” Joe1134206, 09/8/2017 “Love it. Feel safer when browsing the internet.” Cachuco, 08/7/2017 “Hard to find a nit with this app. (...) The iOS app allows a quicker toggle on/off than digging into settings, for VPN hostile iOS apps like Pandora and Netflix. I like PIA’s value for the money, and I have not had any trouble whatsoever with the iOS app. I recommend this app, and PIA, as one of your layers of online security.” DB Associates, 01/27/2017 “I did my homework, reviewing many VPN services. PIA was among the most economical, plenty of simultaneous connections and more than enough servers and services. (...) The speed is more than I hoped for. I can stream all YouTube videos. HD quality is superb with no buffering. I am happy to have this extra security on all our devices. My wife could not tell the difference after I installed it on her PC. I think I paid $39.99/year. What a bargain!” Helmut, 06/20/2016 GDPR compatibility This application only sends username and encrypted passwords to our servers as part of using this app. During signups, we also collect user's email. We do not collect and/or store any other user information.

  • Loses connections with latest update

    By Micfail
Not sure why, but I have to remind myself to reconnect and look for the vpn icon. :(
  • 2.8.0 is constantly disconnecting

    By mk9s
Update for 2.8.1: just as bad at keeping connected as 2.8.0. Worthless. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Was working superbly until 2.8.0 with the Network Management feature. Now on all my iOS devices it almost constantly disconnects even though I have marked all networks untrusted and with all protections enabled. No combination of settings keeps the VPN connected reliably.
  • Version 2.8.1 Works Really Well

    By heysailor53
2.8.0 was dreadful. Thankfully PIA issued a patch that solved the WiFi auto connect problems. It’s a dangerous web out there. I always have PIA connected.
  • Great service. Stability returned

    By OCqt83
Latest release appears to have a functioning Network Management Tool. Ticket submitted for cellular to WiFi handoff issue. Maintains cellular VPN (ping/speeds) despite WiFi connection. Manually turning off cell data forces handoff / VPN tunnel connection to WiFi.
  • Latest update works after reinstall

    By hackworks
The latest update disconnects from WiFi when VPN is enabled and uses carrier data. This is total regression! On reinstalling, it works as expected.
  • Not worth it

    By the rackman
Constant connection issues , never works where it is needed , overpriced- save your money and use one of the free services!
  • Drops and reconnects every 30 min or so

    By Logan45919
It just randomly stops working, and I have no connection for a few minutes until the vpn just shuts off and then comes back and starts working. Like it times out and restarts. It’s super annoying and has done this for a long time.
  • Trustworthy, secure, & private

    By ConcernedButPowerlessUser
My husband and I secure all of our devices with PIA and recommend it to our friends and family. It’s a functional, trustworthy, no-nonsense privacy tool for our surveillance-ridden times. Also, they have a patient and responsive dev team! If you encounter periodic bugs (as happens with software tools), check their website for their support page before leaving grouchy reviews. (sorry guys)
  • Only needs a widget

    By Andyob94
This vpn does what it needs to do and does it well, the only thing the mobile version needs is a widget to quickly enable protection from the lock screen
  • Terrible

    By Macaholic74
Bricked my phone anytime it was on. I had to turn it off to even browse the internet. Similar experience (but not as severe) on my Mac. Just a lot of hassle. I gave up on it probably a month after getting it, and it renewed for $40 yesterday. I tried to ask nicely to reverse the charge as I had forgotten I ever had it in the first place, and was not even using it the last 11 months. They refused. Unacceptable on every level. Would not recommend to anyone.
  • Thanks

    By Clarkstephen
I won’t say much words, but, Thanks.
  • Network management fails to connect on untrusted wifi networks.

    By JeffIsFrustrated
The new "network management" feature only half works. It will connect to vpn automatically on cellular (given that I have the switch on that marks those as untrusted), and if connected to vpn, it will disconnect when I connect to an untrusted wifi system, but when initially not connected (example: when not on vpn because it switched off when I connected to a trusted wifi system), it will not connect to vpn automatically when I connect to an untrusted wifi system. This behavior has been consistent across a couple of dozen tries in different situations and across several choices of (US) server locations. Setting: iPhone 5s with iOS and pia app current, default pia app parameters other than network management. I'd have sent this through the app's "support" feature, but it is currently not offering a "contact" option, only a pointless search option.
  • 50/50

    By 😋review
It’s works amazing on the Mac flawless but on the iPhone it is terrible. I can’t connect to any internet other than my personal home one.i try connecting to Starbucks one and it does not connect at all. Also I turn the vpn off to connect to other public networks but it manages to turn itself back on by itself.
  • Billing issues

    By BK1488
Horrible billing. Apple was charging me and asking for renewals when I had already paid. PIA not helpful. Told me to call Apple.
  • Kicks iPhone off WiFi & slows connections

    By freetonian
This kicks me off WiFi on my iOS 12.1.4 on a 7 plus. Useless if this keeps happening.
  • Was good but no more

    By J.e.t502
I purchased this a year ago, and it was great. It worked well, didn’t slow anything down and most web sites were compatible. However AFTER I was charged the renewal fee I was denied access. The app indicated my password was incorrect, so I requested a new password, then it indicated the subscription expired and no access. I have made 3 (three) requests through the ridiculous click for assistance, explained the problem and gotten no assistance. I received a few emails about we received your request we are working on it and one that they have high request volume.! Well yeah your app now is terrible. I am going to request a reversal of the charge, remove this awful ripoff of an app and find a new VPN. It is sad when you think Finally someone has gotten it right only to find out, no its just another tech company who cant accept it when something is working.
  • It’s ok

    By getreal?
Have to move around to different servers due to slow speeds.
  • Fast always works

    By Sarcalast
VPN that actually stays on when I press ON. Very fast.
  • Connection issues

    By Hannah91983
As others have stated I’ve been a pretty consistent subscriber to private Internet access however I’m experiencing and have experienced issues and connecting to my iPhone to their public networks it takes forever and I’ve done download it from my phone because it isn’t even worth the hassle. On my windows machine it works great the new update on my computer has had it work wonderfully however on my i device I don’t recommend this product anymore I too am on the look for another VPN server for my iPhone. 😐

    By R Dalton
I have used PIA for years, the latest update included a malfunctioning Network Management Tool setting that breaks the VPN Kill-switch, consistently turns VPN off exposing all your traffic on public and private wifi, does not turn on for “ALL" networks, including trusted or untrusted, cellular or otherwise. Settings for 100% VPN: DISABLE, Trust Cellular Networks; ENABLE, VPN Wifi Protection AND Protect All Networks; ENABLE Kill-switch. Nope, doesn’t maintain connection to VPN, turns off indiscriminately and exposes your traffic. Do Not Use until PIA fixes issue AND posts that they actually discovered the conflicting code and fixed it rather than cookie-cutter replies that ask user to contact them directly instead of being open about this major security flaw. Until a fix is released, find a proper working VPN. YOU’VE BEEN WARNED.
  • VPN will not stay locked on.

    By Cyber Vector
Ever since the latest update which includes a new network management tool, the PIA app cannot maintain a constant VPN connection. Instead it drops out randomly with no notification, even with the kill switch on. Not very reassuring behavior for an app for which you depend on for security. Does PIA do quality assurance testing before they release?
  • terrible speeds in new york city for at least an year

    By RYOkEkEN
fake security if you have to turn off the vpn because there's no available connectionS OR speed
  • Billing Issues with No Support

    By rw49823
Yearly subscription came up for renewal and I renewed it immediately, which was 3 days before expiration. I received notification from Apple subscription renewal was successful, but yet they still contact me saying my account is closing due to no payment. Support website has no way to open issue, seems like fraudulent practice. Will open dispute with Apple and credit card company.
  • HeadsUp

    By RobbedWithAFountainPen
Beware of auto renew if you pay by the year. Got no reminder app was about to auto renew. Cancelled after being charged, got a “Sorry chum, enjoy our service for the next year”. No refunds.
  • Never seems to stay connected for long

    By Sgt_Gump
The first issue I had was that this app just chewed through battery life. I had to change the VPN protocol from OpenVPN to IPSec (based on past feedback) to fix that. But this seems to make my connection unreliable, whether I'm on wifi or cellular. Before the network manager options were released, my internet would just stop working randomly - typically after 15-30 minutes - but my phone would still say it's connected to wifi/LTE and the VPN. Presumably this was the kill switch engaging. Now, even with the option to "protect all networks" enabled under the network manager settings, my connection still cuts out just as often as before, only this time it just drops me from the VPN entirely and doesn't even attempt to reconnect to it. Sure, it doesn't totally kill my internet, but it basically renders itself useless.
  • Does not work reliably

    By Phroedrick
EVERY day since the latest install of this app, it disconnects my iPad from the net. There’s no specific time, set of conditions or group of apps running when this happens. It just goes down and with it my ability to connect to the internet. I could be in the middle of reading news or sending client work over the net. This app just quits. A hard reset is required. I am SICK OF THIS UNRELIABLE APP and suggest you buy another VPN, even if they’re more costly. I’m about to become a former user. For the record, I’ve been using it for over three years on iPad, iPhone and Mac Mini and it is unreliable across all platforms. Really a trash application—my opinion.
  • Problematic

    By The Crenz
The network management tool is a great idea. Too bad it doesn’t work the way it’s intended. Hope you fix it soon.
  • Network Management Tool doesn’t work

    By McBuffalovin
As others here have mentioned, the network management tool has made the app almost unusable. Instead of auto connecting when my iPad is on an untrusted network, it just block the connection all together. I tried turning off the kill switch but that didn’t fix anything. Similar issues on the iPhone. The app completely ignores the whitelist. I have no idea if there is some combination of settings that I have wrong, but I can’t find any documentation on this tool anywhere. And before you give me your canned response, yes I submitted a ticket already.
  • Worst update ever

    By MacReza
This new update killed my connections all together. Please fix this bad update!!! It kills all my connections
  • Issues with new update

    By alvin the penguin
Over it has been a good app. Ever since the update adding the Network Management Tool in settings, the “kill switch” setting doesn’t seem to work properly anymore. It will just suddenly disconnect without the vpn. The inverse problem also happens. I often can’t get the connection to work at all. I think this new feature called the network management tool sounds good but is poorly explained and implemented.
  • Randomly disconnects and reconnects

    By devtest1
I have no problems other than slow image loading and random disconnects on iOS. About every 15 minutes I lose the connection then it auto reconnects. It’s fairly annoying because you will just be surfing the net then stuff stops loading. You think it’s lag but sit and wait. Then you finally see PIA and connection disconnect then slowly reconnect. Then you can reload the page. It all happens slowly from the time a page stops loading to reconnect. It’s extremely disrupting. I’m looking for a new vpn for iOS that doesn’t lose connections so often with better speed.
  • Do you even test the app before releasing?

    By InvinciShan
The latest update is completely messed up. Instead of reconnecting, it most often stays disabled. Other times it disables the WiFi completely and keeps running in the background. Everything shows that the VPN is disabled but there’s no way to enable WiFi at all. It shows that it’s connected to the WiFi network but nothing happens. No way to disable the VPN and turn on WiFi without restarting the iPhone. It drained my iPhone overnight while running for 6.5 hours in the background. And the WiFi is still disabled regardless of the combination of settings is use in the app. It doesn’t even let OpenVPN app to stay connected. Do you even test the app at all? Or just program whatever features you like and submit to the App Store? I know the service costs less but it’s not worth when you can’t even get the WiFi to work.
  • Do not disconnect automatically!!

    By C.T.10
Before the update, PIA was always on— always protecting my devices. Now it turns off when I don’t use the phone (and to make things worse doesn’t automatically reconnect). Bring back always on please!
  • VPN turn off without warning

    By Kromak
Latest iOS version turns off VPN without warning on WiFi. Tried with and without the new network management tool that never trust any WiFi or cellular connection. Neither works consistently. I want the old version back, without the long waiting for reconnecting VPN (I had to trigger a disconnect then reconnect manually)
  • Renewal

    By Sunny Singapore
I just renewed but it doesn’t recognised.. it .. saw the confirmed message but it is still asking to pay again
  • IKEv2 Support, Finally!

    By xGhostFace0621x
First of all, thank you guys for finally supporting this protocol. It has been great! First day, no issues whatsoever. But then its the second day, and it’s having a hard time reconnecting when my phone switches to LTE & WiFi. IKEv2 is supposed to have this ease of transfer. It’s supposed to be the best for mobile devices. If you guys can fix the reconnection issues, this will be back at 5 stars.
  • Easy to Use

    By ThatGuySizemore
I love PIA VPN, and their iPhone app is incredibly easy to use. I would love to see a little bit more ease of access on the server selection, maybe the ability to sort by ping or physical distance.
  • Restore purchase

Я пользуюсь вашим приложением уже два года, меня все устраивает но оно пропало из российского App Store в связи с этим я не получаю обновления по действующей подписке !!! Что мне делать ?!!???

    By leoxxbm
It works greatly! What a great surprise! Please developers, watch yourselves up on the next update....don’t mess the app up! It’s perfect as it is. Congrats!!!!
  • Excellent VPN interface to go with an excellent VPN service

    By Soli K
I would happily give this a 5-star review if it weren’t for the fact that MACE only works through Safari’s content blockers. Which means it doesn’t affect ads on other apps. I’ll change this to 5 stars in a heartbeat if I could block ads and tracking across my entire device instead of just within one app.
  • Easy to use.

    By CASurveyor2
I set it up on my laptop and iPhone Xr. It runs in the background and connects quickly every time I log on. I did a speed check on Ookla and found it to be about 5% slower as advertised on the PIA site. It seems to do what it’s supposed to do and it gives me peace of mind when I’m on unsecured networks.

  • Can’t connect. Apple XR

    By ddnice8519
App keeps trying to connect but never connects. I tried several times. Every time I’m on a public WiFi and try to connect the VPN it fails. Now I paid for a subscription I can’t use. Really dissatisfied. I need a VPN since I’m out the country. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
