Private Internet Access VPN Protect your privacy with Private Internet Access®, the world's leading VPN service for iOS users on iPhone and iPad. Private Internet Access®, or PIA, enables users to encrypt their network traffic and stay protected when surfing the web. Add privacy and security to private and public networks when you browse the Internet and use Wi-Fi, whether connected to a hotspot or at home. High speeds, unlimited bandwidth, connect with 10 devices simultaneously (smartphones, tablets, computers), no traffic logs, and 24/7 professional, native English speaking customer support. WHY USE VPN FROM PRIVATE INTERNET ACCESS®? • Low price. $6.25 per month if you purchase a 1 year subscription ($74.99/year) or $9.99 on a monthly basis. • Reliable and trusted VPN provider since 2010 with a proven no log policy. • Privacy is our Policy. Here at PIA, we not only provide a great VPN service at a low price, but we also support organizations like the Electronic Frontier Foundation, FightForTheFuture, Creative Commons, Open Rights Group, Index on Censorship, freenode, Wireguard, Arch Linux, and many others. We respect your privacy and anonymity. BY USING VPN FROM PRIVATE INTERNET ACCESS®, YOU GET: • IP Cloaking. Your IP address will be changed to a Private Internet Access IP address to hide your identity and location. Hide your IP address to stop data trackers, snoopers, and hackers from tracking your browsing and search activity. • Data Encryption. Encrypt your internet traffic with our VPN proxy. Our trusted online privacy service creates several security layers which keep you anonymous and prevent access to your data. It’s time to change your WiFi habits. Don’t use WiFi without our secure VPN to proxy your internet traffic! • WiFi Security. With WPA and WPA2 now kracked, you need a VPN to protect your WiFi everywhere - not just in hotspots, coffee shops, cafes, hotels, and airports. If you use WiFi hotspots without encryption, your data can be seen, blocked, throttled, censored, or otherwise changed. • Content Blocker. The Safari Content Blocker blocks ads, trackers, and malware while browsing with Safari. WHAT DO OUR CUSTOMERS THINK? “Never had a problem. Has been my go to VPN for the past 2 years. Awesome service ever since” Major_Ursa “Firstly, the company is second to none in terms of support, troubleshooting, and individualized assistance. Their nodes and hubs are top speed. Their client is streamlined and has a tremendous ease of use.” JAYDLUV “This is my go to app for VPN. Been using Windows version for years and the iPad version is great.” Pkcarreon “No hiccups, no crashes or anything. It just works great. Bear in mind you have to subscribe to the service for this to work. I highly recommend it.” Scott Loflin “Simple and solid. No issues even when traveling.” Joe1134206 “Love it. Feel safer when browsing the internet.” Cachuco “Hard to find a nit with this app. (...) The iOS app allows a quicker toggle on/off than digging into settings, for VPN hostile iOS apps like Pandora and Netflix. I like PIA’s value for the money, and I have not had any trouble whatsoever with the iOS app. I recommend this app, and PIA, as one of your layers of online security.” DB Associates “I did my homework, reviewing many VPN services. PIA was among the most economical, plenty of simultaneous connections and more than enough servers and services. (...) The speed is more than I hoped for. I can stream all YouTube videos. HD quality is superb with no buffering. I am happy to have this extra security on all our devices. My wife could not tell the difference after I installed it on her PC. I think I paid $39.99/year. What a bargain!” Helmut GDPR compatibility This application only sends username and encrypted passwords to our servers as part of using this app. During signups, we also collect user's email. We do not collect and/or store any other user information.

  • VPN

    By names don't work
One of the best VPNs around
  • Needs work

    By qtip772
The good: Seems to connect quickly in most situations. The bad: Claims to have thousands of servers, doesn’t let you pick individual servers within a city/region. Competitor VPN services allow you to switch servers manually in case one is blocked or slow. The ugly: One of the biggest reasons to have a VPN is to keep your private and financial information safe but these servers are blocked by financial sites so you have to disconnect the VPN to connect to the information you want most secure!
  • No latency?

    By andrewornot
It’d be nice to see each server’s latency. Using the “Sort by Latency” option doesn’t do anything. 20191606 Edit: It works now. Not sure what happened because I didn’t have to uninstall to fix it.
  • Turn OFF switch needed

    By Msunderstood1
This last update removed the button to toggle to turn it off/on. Fix this
  • Scam - Does not work

    By judgejay
This app does not work, even once paying for a full subscription, this doesn’t work. The PIA group share that it’s your fault and apples so you need to go to them for a refund however apple flip you over to PIA. I strongly suggest DO NOT PAY OR DOWNLOAD.
  • Good👍

    Sweet 😋
  • Fine app, great VPN provider

    By grandgeezer
I've used them for years and the app has gotten a lot better over the years. The network manager is something iOS should've had a long time ago – tell it which wifis you don't need (or can use) a VPN on, and it'll take care of enabling it on all others. PIA's app for OS-X and Ubuntu is brilliant too and your subscription covers (IIRC) five of them.
  • IPad PIA

    By APeacefulOne
iOS 12.4 on iPads PIA works great on Windows 10 and Ubuntu Linux systems but constantly closes on iPads. I have no idea why. Please fix
  • Best!!!

    I love it
  • IOS connection issues

    By Slopedoper
I have been using PIA for quite some time. Unfortunately, since the last PIA app upgrade, it is rendered useless on my iPhone 7, will not stay connected. I purchased a 2 year plan, cannot rely on the product at this point. I have IOS 12.3, PIA 2.8.2 (17126). PIA’s resolution was for me to be a beta test site, would if it were free. I don’t feel good paying to be beta. Not after purchasing 2 year contract. Want to give it 5 stars, may be able to in the future UPDATE: new version seems to work very well, thanks for updating the product
  • Broken Killswitch, Connection Issues

    By tusing
This new update is completely and utterly broken. PIA should be ashamed of themselves for letting this get through without testing it. I was routinely able to make questions outside of the VPN when the VPN wasn’t available. Killswitch seems to be entirely broken. IKEv2 throws configuration errors and simply doesn’t work on any of my iOS devices. Network switching doesn’t work anymore. If you’re on Wi-Fi and want to go on cellular, you need to disable the Killswitch and re-enable it. No, simply disconnecting doesn’t work, because now the user cannot initiate a disconnect action if the VPN is currently “connecting”. Terrible experience. If PIA will not develop a good client, at least support the native iOS VPN protocol! PIA has an incredible industry track record - I just wish they put the same effort into their apps as they did in their commitment to user privacy etc.
  • Will not even establish a connection to any of their servers

    By Xronosabre
I have an Iphone xsmax and use T-Mobile as my carrier. I have full signal strength on my mobile network as well as home wifi. I have also driven to other locations in an attempt to connect elsewhere as well as to other wifi connections. Every time, failure to connect. I bought a subscription based on the recommendation of YouTube channel links tech tips. I am extremely disappointed and deserve a refund as it is pointless and unusable regardless of any of the listed troubleshooting recommendations.
  • Drops connection randomly

    By Weeble8120
Every once in a while I will check the app and it will be disconnected. I absolutely love PIA on my PC, but I am not sure why it isn’t stable on my phone. I trust PIA with my privacy over other companies, so I deal with the phone disconnect issues. I hope they figure out how to make it more stable.

  • Drains the battery in the background

    By Jordache007
I haven’t seen others posting about this but I installed this a few days ago and my battery has drained by the mid afternoon every day, even if I’m not using my phone. Disappointed because I’ve used this on my computer with no problems. Please fix and it ok keep subscribing.
  • Mace no longer supported, only works with Safari

    By Kurosakiuzu
I just purchased PIA 4 days ago and it works well with Mac/PC and Android. Mace works on all these platforms except iOS which only works with Safari. I am very disappointed because it seems as if the rumors were true about PIA removing Mace feature to only add Mace for Safari only because Apple forced them to or something. I don’t know the reason for this change but as a customer, we should be able to choose how we use the app we purchase.
  • Latest update working again.

    By SuprButtkis
3.0.0 is back to being stable as a rock. Thanks guys.
  • Version 3.0.0

    By SOS612
Since my app has updated on my iPhone recently, it will not connect. If in the slight chance it does connect, it only stays on for about 20 seconds before it turns off. I can’t get it to stay connected, no matter the region I select, or to stay on long enough to do anything. Any help would be appreciated.
  • Had an issue and devs were quick to respond

    By Scott Shaun
Back to as good as it's always been 😎
  • Make sense

    By hadechemi
    It’s great
  • Easily detected

    By JenningsF
Every streaming service I have clicked into has detected this VPN. Netflix, Hulu, etc. All saying please turn off your proxy/VPN. It wasn't like this before the update.
  • Problem logging in, two factor code.

    By Subwaygop
I had a problem logging in. I contacted the support team by email. As they work the problem they kept me up to date by email. They fixed the problem the same day. BTY the problem was my fault. Thank you Brad K. of PIA. Great customer service!
  • Usually outstanding

    By BoxAviator
I've been a customer for years. Love the servic. Don't know what you did, but this update you laid a real goose-egg. Can't seem to connect in less than 5 minutes cellular OR wifi. Rest all settings and now can't turn Siri commands on as the "phrase" is already "in use" When it does finally connect (auto &manually selected locations) it doesn't last more than a minute or two. This is on my reliable home network. Please consider retrograde to previous version.
  • Bring the toggle back

    By Vkvs
Bring the toggle back. Having a button to connect is just really bad. You can't even reliably disconnect when the network is iffy. I've been forced to restart my phone at least twice... Also showing the regions as country flags is also terrible - They are all just US flags for me and there's no differentiation.
  • Won’t let some websites to connect

    By LarryDV
There are several websites that PIA will not let you connect too. I have also found this also to be very true on my computer. At this time I cannot truly recommend PIA to others. Not when it is on and you try to connect and all the web page says is fix your connection, but if you turn off PIA then it will connect.
  • Works well as expected

    By hackworks
    Eagerly waiting for WireGuard support.
  • Really good.

    By hafman42
    Works very well
  • Almost every update has a major problem, but...

    By mk9s
I've been using PIA for over a year and have an annual subscription. Bottom line, it works great but there's a big BUT.... Almost every update causes some major issue. A few months back it was impossibly unreliable to connect, like useless. One of the more recent updates suddenly started draining the battery so fast it didn't last more than 6-8 hours and the phone is warm to the touch. The battery app shows PIA is the top battery user, every time I check. Right now PIA has been averaging 24% over the last 24 hours. The good news is there is a solution to these issues: uninstall and reinstall PIA, of course going through all the login and permissions dialogs. Yes it's a pain, and it shouldn't be necessary, but it has worked every time to fix the latest issue.

  • New update not working

    By tyvd189
New update not working, will not turn on or off :(
  • What happened??

    By Dafaceguy
I don’t use the vpn often but I noticed the new interface. Cannot connect to anything. It’s “ vpn cannot connect to server” over and over and over regardless of region. Horrible update. I basically have a useless app that I pay a monthly subscription for. Very disappointed
  • Nice redesign but...

    By jota_eh
Nice redesign but needs a way to abort the process of connecting to the VPN tunnel. Good when you try to use PIA with connections that block VPNs or with crappy WiFi internet connections.
  • Works great to avoiding cookies

    By woofy 44 woofy
Whenever I searching certain websites I turn vpn on and never get the annoying cookie ads to my email from these companies.
  • Same problems persist after years of use

    By C10wn
PIA constantly has problems connecting, problems staying connecting, and problems using WiFi, instead of LTE. I’ll be connected to WiFi and start PIA, at which point I’ll be connected to VPN over cellular, instead of WiFi. PIA insist that this is just a display bug and I’m really connected to WiFi, but speed tests and prompts to authorize apps to use cellular data indicate otherwise. This “bug” has been an issue for years now and it doesn’t seem like they have any plans to fix it. If you want a reliable VPN that actually does what it’s supposed to do, look elsewhere. Edit: I just went into settings and disabled cellular access for PIA to force a WiFi connection and got a notification stating that there is no wireless connection available, even though WiFi works fine when PIA is disabled.
  • Connection Issues

    By User_C6638
The latest version, 3.0.0, is a maddening exercise in futility. Cannot connect to any server, no matter the region. The yellow “power” button just spins and spins. Fails to connect when on very strong WiFi, or AT&T. It seems the only logical solution is to terminate subscription, and sign-up with NordVPN. Connection failures happening on an iPhone Xs, with iOS 12.3, running latest version of PIA from the Appstore.
  • Worst lapse of coverage, lying to offer 15% discount for lapse of coverage and hassles

    By Dani-El 127
It is the worst. It lapsed it’s service. Promised 15% discount was not delivered but all lies. Emails going back and forth does resolve anything. Refused to give refund when I asked and referred to apple. PIA does own its problems. Horrible. Additional review on 5/25/2019. They sent me an email asking me to change review and they will do something? Bribing for review change? Why don’t you fix the problem?
  • Exquisite interface, Rick-solid functionality

    By Ebrainer1
I am digging this updated UI. Big friendly button, just the right amount of configurability. The VPN service is magnificent. Does exactly what it says, unlocks the internet from any restrictions and breaches of privacy. Great pricing as well.
  • Totally messed up with latest update

    By InvinciShan
I don’t know what they’re paying their developers but they make one update better and then totally screw up the next one. The latest update says they’ve improved network management tool. If improving it means A CONNECTION DROP EVERY OTHER MINUTE, they’re doing an excellent job at it. Just bring back the previous version until you can fix this crap of an update. Please don’t release something just cuz you have a good feeling about it. I’ve had enough with these guys and will be switching to ExpressVPN once my subscription ends. P.S. The connection was dropped 4 times by the time I finished writing this review.

    By Old84ag
This is the worst update of any app I have ever updated. DO NOT UPDATE. If you are in a hotel and you previously had VPN “on” , the VPN will continue to try to connect which doesn’t allow your iPad to get to the hotspot login. It continues trying to connect even after you force close it somehow in the background. Nothing short of a hard iPad reset will disable the connection attempt. If your hotel is having problems maintaining your connection your toast and have to hard reset every time. I guess this is an ultimate security protection but what good is it if it won’t even let you logon to a hotspot you know is safe.
  • Update 3.0.0 stopped working

    By Ch005
Previous version was working completely fine. Updated to the latest and now the app opens but it never connects to any of the servers. If I use the profiles over OpenVPN it works though. So it seems to point to an application problem.
  • Like the new interface

    By Anon555765
I really like the new interface Especially that it now shows both the your original IP and the VPN external IP instead of just the external IP Also network management appears to be working as expected now instead of being all buggy and weird
  • Drops connection, spends a LOT of time resolving

    By GB$qwzf
I get so tired of this app constantly “resolving” the connection. It happens about every 30 minutes or so. If you wait for it, it will take 2-5 minutes. If you open the app and pick ANY other server than the one you are currently trying to use, the problem is fixed in 5 seconds. Why is this so hard for you, PIA? I’ve been putting up with this for around three years now. If this problem isn’t fixed by my next renewal, I’ll find another VPN provider. About a year later: still drops connection a lot and the latest release (today is 5/23/19) adds a new, far less convenient for choosing-a-server interface. Also, new-ish is that it now tries to connect to its server before you have a WiFi connection on boot up.
  • Great overall app - Fix splash Screen

    By Doyle2005
The app is great and works as advertised. The issue I have is the splash screen is blinding white even on dark mode. If I cold start this app at night it melts my eyes. Suggestion - if dark mode is enabled, have a dark splash screen
  • Best VPN App

Love the new interface. Just wish it supported my older iPad.
  • The best VPN

I love private Internet access. I’ve used several VPNs in the past. Private Internet access has such a nice interface many good connections and is very easy to use. I’m a customer for life.
  • Siri short cuts doesn’t work.

    By Rocky7302
Got really excited to see the option to connect/disconnect from the vpn without opening the app, but when I tell Siri “disconnect vpn” despite that being my Siri shortcut phrase, Siri will tell me “I can’t do that”.
  • Thank for nothing.

    By BiohazardAcid
I do not care about the updated interface I would just like your product to work on any of it’s platforms.
  • Great new interface

    By Tech Jedi
The new interface now has everything you will need on a regular basis, right up front. Well designed with easy to understand interface options. The VPN works great. Have never had any issues when connecting. The speed of the connection is also top notch.
