I was hoping this would make a difference but unfortunately it didn’t. 75% of my spam calls are number spoofed. So I can tell that myself and just don’t answer. It didn’t block most spam calls or even identify them as such. I know it is a tough problem and maybe the app will do well enough for others. Just wasn’t worth my keeping it on all the time.

My calls went from over 10 per day to the most 1 per week. Thank you Hiya.

I believe this app gives your information to spammers. I downloaded this app when it was a good caller id tool. Now, I am getting spam calls everyday. Uninstalled.

It is a great tool to restore ownership to my own phone number.
  • Premium isn’t worth it

No difference between premium and basic. App doesn’t identify or block spam callers. Pretty worthless.

Now, it doesn’t work as well on IPhones. I’m disappointed as it used to work so well.

Still receiving lots of robo calls. This app is not effective. Most of the calls getting through are the ones spoofing local area phone numbers.
  • Scam phone calls

This APP is very helpful, stops or warns me of scam and robo phone calls

Doesn’t block anything anymore. I can search a spam number that just called me, Hiya will recognize it. Did hiya block it or warn me? No. And yes, I leave it running in the background. It’s the first app I open after rebooting. I update daily. I’m about ready to uninstall.
  • No call log?

    By Adamr1113
Seems to work ok.. but for a paid app why do I have to manually type in a phone number to block a call or look it up? Why can I not just see my call log and block or report.. seems like the most basic and obvious functionality..

The paid version is of no help while phone is ringing. I have blocked numbers with the app and calls still come through. At least the free version told me it was a spoof call coming in at the time it was ringing. Doesn’t help much that I have to wait until after they hang up to have to look up who just called.

Unsure that app is working properly. I’m receiving calls from all zeros, to ones that say United States, unknown caller etc. I’d have thought that the app would screen calls, yet I’ve received a dozen today alone.
  • Barely better than nothing

The calls come in waves and this app rarely stems the tide. In fact, I positively blocked a call today and then the exact same number came through again five minutes later. I report WAY more calls that get through than this app ever blocks. Very disappointing.

Paid for premium. Noticed for first month or two a decrease in daily robocalls... now getting 8-12 robocalls a day even with my premium account. Time to cancel.

  • You have to pay

I used to love this app, it was amazing at telling me where the call is from and the name of who called but now you have to pay! I get that they have to make money but I hate that it was free and amazing and now you have to pay(which I’m not doing). I can’t use the app now/:
  • Not working too well lately

I realize telemarketers have increased activity lately, but I feel that too many spam calls are getting through.

Does this app even work??? I cannot tell if it does anything, poor interface does not even display recent calls
  • Doesn’t block spoofing numbers.

    By SureCritic02
Only reason I downloaded it is bc they claim to block spoofing calls by listening you now/nix with four wildcard numbers as the last four. Doesn’t work on mine. also, why no ability to send “no caller Id” Calls directly to vm

The app blocks a few calls but not all despite saying that there hundreds of thousand scam number in the system.
  • Not helpful at all

Not sure if it’s just because I have the free version or what but nothing ever gets tagged as spam when I get calls. I report numbers and this app isn’t helping me one bit.

I use the app on iPhone and android phones. Love it! Just wish the iPhone version worked more like the android version. Android version the app is automatic to identify, but iPhone requires multiple steps to identify callers. But still a useful app thT I use daily. 👍 Update: app has become a “upgrade to get info” app. Free info has been reduced greatly.
  • Worked ok before but not now

It was ok therefore started subscription but it doesn’t work well from a couple of months ago. I set neighborhood protection on, but still receive tons of neighborhood scam. During foreign travels yesterday night, I woke up three times in the night because of scam calls. Don’t waste your money.
  • Worked pretty well until...

I had Hiya installed on my old iPhone 7 and now on my iPhone XR. It worked pretty well. It would catch a few calls a month and flag them as spam or scams. A lot of calls still got through though. I’m sure this is because the telemarketers are constantly changing their phone numbers. But just recently I stopped getting calls from my wife. Whenever she would try to call, it went directly to voicemail. I checked whether I had accidentally blocked her and that was not the case. After checking several more settings with no solution. I tried disabling Hiya and that worked! Not sure why because her number was not listed anywhere as a blocked number. So unfortunately, I have to delete this app. Perhaps they will come up with a fix for this soon.
  • Premium? Ha. Ha. Ha.

    By ptezco
Why so many “student loan” calls coming through? I thought I was paying to have them blocked. Since we’re at it, why doesn’t the app have access to the recently received calls so that I can easily select the numbers I want to have blocked. Instead, I have to MANUALLY copy every single number, which is bonkers.
  • This is useless

This is useless unless you buy the upgrade. Real close to deleting this app Gave it a good try deleting today

The Hiya app provides protection from scam and fraudulent calls. Highly recommend
  • DO NOT BUY PREMIUM

    By Russmd
I’ve used the free for a while with spotty success. I decided to buy the Premium version for s year so I’d get caller ID’s. I GET NO MORE THAN BEFORE. Absolutely no difference with paid. I communicated with them for a refund and got a runaround to go through Apple with no success. DO NOT BUY!!!
  • Doesn't work on iPhone 5c

I can't afford a 1000 dollar iPhone and this isn't compatible on my iOS 7-8. You should make it adaptable for all iOS software
  • Not effective

    By flitewrite
Free ver, this app is about 10% effective. Most of the time I feel I’m helping it by adding numbers to its database, but it’s not helping me by blocking much at all!
